Since when can you take Joker's words seriously? Just because he insists (to Harvey, wasn't it?) that he doesn't have a plan doesn't mean he doesn't ever have a plan.

i can't think of any other reason for the Joker to kill himself, other than that his mind is unstable and he's just plain out crazy. x3

I reviewed this on LJ already but ahahahha I will again because I read this one over and over. I really *do* think Bats would go a little crazy if he ever lost Joker. And I love the ambiguity of the ending.

This was incredible. So well written and, well I can't even explain how good it was.

The ending was very touching. I really think you should actually make a sequel to this story, because I'm dying to read more and I'm sure everyone else is too.

Wow I love this! Seriously, I'm a bit dazed right now. It's so...so touching, raw -you actually feel all the emotions he feels, nearly too close for comfort really XD I am impressed by the idea too, and the way you wrote everything, you manage to make shivers run down my spine, and all the time you just wish for it to not be true and wish for somehow, no matter HOW the Joker to just still be alive XD A really great piece of work, I salute to you.

This was a great way to show that The Joker is always right. You did a great job. Heh, also great that there is no set answer to this, but I would love to know what YOU, the author, thought.

You're not asking for it, but I believe Joker did do it, but it's not suicide. It was a way to ultimately fuck with Batman's head forever and ever and ever.

Ending dialogue made me laugh, something Joker would have genuinely said.

I love the Joker, and this is realy sad, but if he ever did comit suicide i think that Bruce would be like this. constantly trying to find a deeper meaning, trying to prove that it is not true. good job. and keep writeing

That was really beautiful - loved it. And quite believable, as well, which is difficult to do when considering tenderness between Batman and Joker.

I love it! I really like Bruce's reaction to Jokers death, but I do have to wonder if the Joker did kill himself or if it was made to look like that, even though the joker getting murdered is HIGHLY unlikely. So if he really did kill himself, I wonder if it was to screw with Batman. Then again its hard to believe he's really dead, so is he really dead like the police say? Or maybe he made it look like he was dead and the reason his body disappeared is because he's actually alive? I really do hope you might make this into something longer. I'd really love it if the Joker really did just fool the police and it was a plan to show Batman how much he needed the Joker. Especially with what you wrote at the end of the chapter, "Are you going to agree with what I said now? That we complete one another?". So I love this fic, even if it stays a one shot it is completely AWESOME! Although, I'd love to see a continuation, even if its only another chapter. Any ways, keep up the good work! This was... believable. Which was my favourite thing about it. It was really visceral when it came to capturing all of Bruce's festering rage and sadness and whatnot. I love the sense that Batman was kind of fumbling toward, you know, actually maybe even understanding the Joker a bit better (as much as he could ever really be understood, anyway). Like this line:

((If the Joker were to plan his own death, it wouldn't be a whispered cut in side street seclusion. There'd be explosions, chaos, music, and he wouldn't be the only one dying. Even then he would have given Batman the chance to save him somehow.))

This line was very bittersweet for me. Anyway. I'm babbling. I enjoyed this thoroughly. :)
