Good story. I like how you portrayed the emotions.

Brilliant - except that Dumbledore sort of did give up on Tom Riddle early on. All the other teachers thought he was brilliant. Dumbledore was the one faculty member who was suspicious of him.

Apparently Rowling wanted to paint Tom Riddle as born evil, a kid destined to be nothing but in-human freak he turned out as. He tormented his fellow orphans, let the basilisk loose, framed Hagrid and started forming his Death Eater cohorts all well before he left Hogwarts.

Riddle's past is shown exclusively through what Dumbledore tells us and never are we shown any redeeming factor. It is possible that Dumbledore just wanted to make Voldemort a monster to Harry so the boy wouldn't have to feel like a murderer but the impression I got was that he never had any faith in Riddle.

Holy crap. This is the stuff I wish I could write about, but even adoring Voldemort as much as I've come to do, I can't write this stuff. It's so tragic, so... incredibly amazing. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever be ready for it, but I ultimately loved this more than you can ever fathom. That was so intense, so in character so... blah! I hate how hard it is to find these characters actually acting like they're supposed to! This was brilliant! I felt the pity that I hold for Voldemort stir all over again. I really do hope you've written more about him actually, and I look forward to reading more if that is indeed the case. I love the tragic nature that is and was Voldemort and I can't even tell you how fortunate I feel to have come across this. :D I was so incredibly excited when I realized who Harry was going to meet at the end of the first chapter because I knew it was going to be something like this, but holy cow, you certainly delivered *beyond* what I was hoping for. Just-gah! I really have no idea what to say, but this piece evoked a lot of emotion in me as I was reading it. Truly inspiring to say the least. :D Now I'm off to slaughter you with more (hopefully coherent) reviews. :D

it just fits that harry has a post-mortem conversation with his arch enemy, as strange as it sounds and you did it wonderful!

harry is also very in character, as are the others! few writers can do that!
