Apparently I haven't reviewed this story (here, anyway, I might've elsewhere), but I didn't want to repeat myself since I HAD to gush about it again. This is the 5th or 6th time that I've read this and I keep getting bowled over by how good it is. The good fiction never dies and is always relevant. It made sense when I first read it, it continued to fit when I came across it again in the last few years, and now when it's been about 2 or 3 weeks since Kathryn Erbe guest starred on SVU saying that Bobby "moved on" it STILL fits into the LOCI universe as a plausible event in the lives of our favorite detectives.

The way you captured the range of feelings-all of them and not just the lovey-dovey ones which is a tendency in ff-makes this SO realistic and unbelievably timeless in it's telling. Even though it was set in a very specific point in the series, Goren and Eames are at its core which makes it incredibly accurate no matter when I've read it. Their feelings for each other don't seem to die and neither does this ship!
