Okay, I don't even know if you're dead by now, but I am going to post this review anyway, since you seem to appreciate the greatly.
First off, I just stumbled upon this fanfic just yesterday and I already devoured it, I must say I find it hard to believe that this is indeed your first one. If yes then you obviously have a great talent for writing! Somehow, you already managed to capture the emotion of moments within your work, especially akward situations. Heh, it's actually been a while since a story has been able to physically affect me, but here I smile at all those neat little jokes and tense up at the more dire passages.
Great job on that one, really, the writing feels just right. The conversation don't seem to go to fast or to slow, always keeping a pace that seems adequate, given the situation, especially the relationship developement between Baron and Neera.
Speaking of it, I don't want to question your choice of names, but by now we have a Baarran, Baron, Borron and Boral. I felt myself get confused at times, but I guess that's just me.
Back on topic, the only thing that bothered me a little was most likely the "death" of Zari. If he is still alive that is, we didn't see him again yet. Anyway, what I mean is this: It's nice to see that a character we already became somewhat attached to turns out to be alive, but seeing some of our favorite characters being killed was one thing that made the original series great.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't want my heroes to die, but the fact that the possibility of character death is actually a thing makes intense situation that much more convincing.
You see, whenever a main character in a book is in a life threatening situation, I always feel like
"Nah he's a main character, he's going to be fine".
In Guardians of Ga'Hoole though I was always like "He's a main character, he could totally die! Oh boy, is he going to make it!?" If you understand what I mean.
Now I don't know how long this fanfic will be if it is (hopefully) finished, but personally I would advise to adapt this dire theme, I can already see myself at the edge of my seat the next time Baron gets in to a though situation, hahah.

Anyway, hope this review helped you out (I put 15 minutes of py precious life into this. Joke aside, it's really not that hard, no idea why people don't review) and I'm really looking forward to new chapters, eventually. I know your life takes priority and I wouldn't want the next chapter to be rushed, so take your time and make it as great as the othres, perhaps even better. Just... show us a sign that you're not dead... I mean "updated Nov23, 2014?. I have reason to believe that by now people want to find out where you live to set your house on fire. Ah well, I'm still going to check here once in a while and of course, should you continue, review the following chapters aswell, given that this one helped you out. But by now I'm rambling, so with that I bid you farewell.

This is a nice story, although it seems like a mix up of dreams a few times. Could your character have Star-Sight? Love your chapters and good luck to you on your next one!

I am very glad you finally updated the story!

I'm not sure of someone already said this, but ezylryb is actually a whiskered screech owl, not a great horned or a borrel. I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but it is nice to get it right. If you feel what I said is unjustified, you can look in the back of the ga'hoole books where it gives info on the owls.

Meh. This section of the community isn't exactly known for it's stellar quality or it's timely updates.
Trust me when I say some of us have seen worse. Though it is poor conduct to leave your readers waiting in the dark, so to speak.

We're already dry as it is around here.
My advice? Force yourself to write a chapter if you are butting heads with
writer's block. It doesn't have to be anything special. Just keep writing until you see something worth salvaging from the wreak of chaotic brainstorming and use it.

It's cool,really. It's important to prioritize school first before fanfictions, so I don't blame you for not writing for a long time. And you also joined a program that helps wild birds. I really wish I could join that, but i couldn't. So I will not blame you.
