Guest chapter 1 . 10/6/2012 Not a bad short story and for it I give you: five silver stars. Hope to see more of your work one day soon. The Crimson Mage. |
Acyla chapter 1 . 7/10/2011 Aww.. that was so bittersweet. An unusual take of a moment in time in Harry and Fawkes' life. I've always suspected that Fawkes had a special spot for Harry although I've never looked at it from the other side. I'm glad that Fawkes got a happy ending though. I suppose one sad thing about being immortal is you always outlive those you love. A beautiful story. Probably the only thing I didn't like was the mentions of Ginny but you did make it fairly true to canon so it could have easily fitted in. Great job! |
YenGirl chapter 1 . 6/30/2011 I am one of those who wondered what happened to Fawkes and of course wanted him to adopt Harry :D I'm glad you thought that too and did it justice! Just a little bittersweet, pure Harry and Fawkes as himself. Beautiful! |
Ember Nickel chapter 1 . 6/18/2011 Nice premise, well done. |
heavenandheels chapter 1 . 5/1/2011 Really great story, I loved it! |
Dildog The Penguin Rapist chapter 1 . 4/6/2011 Simply beautiful. I love that you were able to bring to life Harry's bond with Dumbledore through the old man's friend. My daughter cried when she read this. |
Star Dust of Ancient Novae chapter 1 . 1/9/2011 Coool |
Unca Pafoo chapter 1 . 12/16/2010 This was a nice one-shot, well written in itself, but it is actually quite AU. There are some bones that I'd like to pick. First, a phoenix is not going to cost eight hundred thousand galleons. It's going to be worth trillions and trillions, more than an army dressed in Hungarian Horntail hide. Their tears and ashes are extremely valuable, so if someone's got a phoenix and is going to sell it, they're going to get enough for it to compensate for all the Galleons it could have made. Second (an extension of first), if the man's got a phoenix, he's probably not going to sell it at ALL. We're talking about a priceless bird who has only ever bonded with a few notable wizards in the past, who has inexhaustable supplies of money, who can be an untraceable smuggling tool (if you're criminally orientated). If he's got a room filled with phoenixes, he'll make much more collecting and selling potions ingredients from them than selling them to people. Third, how does one capture a phoenix? Remember, we're talking about the practically untraceable BIRD who can fly away and who can burst into flames and disappear to wherever they want, whenever they want. No magic can imprison them. Not even the wards of Hogwarts, as demonstrated by Dumbledore in book 5. This was a good story. It was just set in an impossible setting. Even AUs has their limits. |
BlackGryphon101 chapter 1 . 12/8/2010 Fawkes isn't alone anymore. |
Roz chapter 1 . 11/28/2010 I liked it thanks. |
momocolady chapter 1 . 11/26/2010 good story |
q.thews chapter 1 . 11/24/2010 Strangely (or not) remind me about the idea of war veteran ending up living alone, maybe even the more angsty scenes from Rambo movies (the ones between Rambo and his commander i mean). Ciao |
