Some lovely line in this chapter, including the mirroring of "Stand by me..." from Series 2. My favourite, though, was:

"Ruth does not place a hand on his. She does not touch him at all. In her mind, she had given up that right when she sent him to face Lucas with hardness and pain in her eyes and voice and heart. She just stands there and wonders how long it will take for his sixth sense to intervene."

I thought that was very poignant.

That was absolutely beautiful! It really gives me some sort of hope for Ruth and Harry in series 10. (oh please let there be some happiness in their future!)
