Lovely chapter. I really appreciate how you wrote their scenes. They're sweet but feel real too.

I like how you captured the vulnerability of Kate. The dialogues were so in character. Plus, I agree about Jack and Penny being awesome together. I've always seen how many things they had in common and how rarely the fics explored that possibility.
"Kate had not ever undermined Jack's faith in her, but she never knew how much his support of her would be essential in others perception of her" I found this passage very insightful. In canon, they keep needing one another's support and faith as well.

Best chapter ever. "Just when the melody had started to pick up, the melancholy wearing down and the hopefulness taking veer, he stopped" I love the idea that Jack wrote that melody that we've seen him playing in Othertown and that he can't finish it. I think he'll figure out how it ends up now that he met Kate.

I'm loving where you're going with this. The dialogues are great. It's a beautiful work and it reminds me a lot of the flashsideways.

I loved this chapter. It's very close to what I think it has been the "confession" scene between them in canon. And I love that in your AU Kate didn't actually kill her father, just like in her flashsideway in season six.

I'm very glad that this is not only an one-shot. It seems a very promising work.

I don't know how I've missed this story. It's such a great concept and you write so well and capture the details beautifully.
"Everything fits, including him, with his beat up face and fresh tattoos. Everything fits in this dark, dirty bar except for one thing. Everything fits except for her." Just awesome. You captured them with those lines that actually define them. And it's also a very possible scenario for both of them on that specific moment of their life.

Love this story! Amazing how it went from a one shot to long one. Great AU! I loved the other Losties joining. The dialogue was clever and I enjoyed the humorous parts. It was great to see them come together still, as fated and adding that letter from Diane to give Kate validation and closure, not to mention the Jaby too! (Jate deserves lots of Jabies!) It is icing on the cake! It's added to my favorites so I can read it again. Thank you for sharing and the time you took to write it! 3
