This is beautiful (as is all your content). I simply adore the introspective way you have of treating these characters and how you show everything from thier point of view. You are amazing! And Gai's story made me cry...

This is amazing! Each account is so detailed and unique... though I can't help but remember Kiba's and Ino's the most. The gone-too-feral!kill and the MPD-with-a-twist. Both are new levels of horror.
Each could have been its own fic in its own right, and yet you condensed one after another to be its own little bundle of contemplation and then jumped to the next. It is a sort of whiplash feeling? It is well done. Especially, how each kill affects the shinobi in question.
Gai's is also surprising, but in-character. You somehow mix Gai and angst well!
(I think Shikamaru's was as well particularly interesting. Accidental, but not in the way Neji's or Shino's were. Kakashi's (and Genma/Raidou/Hayate, but I only am invested in those side characters because of black. and her magic!) would have been worthwhile to read, yet hard to write.)
All in all, this made me think probably a tad bit too much, and I thank you for sharing!
I am off to read the "same continuity" fic, now! *excited*

Wow. And...yeah, one thing they do not focus on much in Naruto, because of the absolute horror of it, is just how awful these child-soldiers and their techniques really are. You did it very well, I think.

You really have a wounderful piece of work here. I think the characters in your short stories are very believable. Death is a part of the shinobi-world and while in the anime it doesn't seem like something that should bother anyone I think you make the reactions and feelings of those young people taking lifes feel real somehow.

I especially like team 8 and the Lee part you wrote. I consider myself a fan of Shino and as one who cares deeply for those in his team I can imagine him trying to comfort Kiba in some way after his first kill. The Lee/Maito Gai one at the end is just great and I can imagine Lee being all PASSIONATE and full of enthusiastic YOUTH to change the Shinobi-ways, especially for the sake of his BELOVED SENSEI :)
