Lovely story just the right tone

oh my goodness, that was so amazing! it was sad but so powerful, it really was wonderfully written! i love how you showed how Don was feeling, how he was mad about what Charlie was doing, and then you stuck the bit in there about their mom understanding. the part that really got me was the line about how there was no one left to understand Charlie. and although Don and Charlie get along great as the series progresses, i dont think he will ever quite understand Charlie the way their mother did. :) wonderful job, although i am sad, i am also very pleased.

Absolutely heartbreaking, but beautiful at the same time. Amazing job!

This nearly made me cry XD It's fabulously well written, and you don't make out either character as the bad or selfish one... I really liked it :)

I just loved this story. This has to be one of the first times I have actually felt sorry for Charlie in the aftermath of his mother's death because while you do address that he acted like an overgrown child, it's handled in a manner that shows his awareness of such and his vulnerable streak. I also loved your Don, so torn between his anger, his pain and his need to protect his remaining family.

Very well done. I really like the different emotions Don was dealing with; first the numbing grief, then the overwhelming anger, then, finally, a touch of understanding and compassion.

The most powerful line in the story was: "And now, there was nobody to understand Charlie for them." Very insightful.

Wow. This was seriously good. You made them real, as they are on the show, not with one being 'selfish' with their action/reaction-as it would be so easy to do-but real. Well done.

So much haaaaaaate. Pretty much this whole thing is gorgeous. The description, your style, the characterization. I was holding my breath the entire time reading it, it had me locked in its clutches (that sounded more ominous than I intended...). Such a good fic, and going right into my favs. 3
