Unlike the previous reviewer, you can feel free to make fun of me all you want. I'm back in the Hetalia fandom and I don't think I'll be leaving any time soon.

Anywhoozles, wonderful story! I don't really see this side of the story, especially with how Italy usually portrayed being the one most loyal to Germany. It's really heartbreaking, and the summary at the beginning really explains how Italy feels about his friendship and what his duties to his nation are. However, it's great seeing that Germany realizes that he's on the losing side and that he bears his best friend no ill will. I love this story and I especially love how you had them part ways with a hope that this war will end and that there are no hard feelings.

I think my favorite part of all of this is that Italy is portrayed as someone who really cares, but he's also really mature too. He knows that he has to follow his brother and make sure that his people don't suffer too hard at the hands of the Allies, which shows that while he still values his friendship with this fellow Axis Power, he still has to put the needs of his people first. Very understated characterization, yet it still speaks volume of the depth within his character.

I love your story because it's well written and sad. The part that moved me most was when Germany told Italy that he was envious of him and the way he could easily run away. Anyway, the whole text is very powerful. Thanks for it.

Reading things like this make me so sad. And I LOVE them so much. I'm not fond of fics where Italy betrays Germany, because people generally make Germany quite cruel about it and I hate it when that happens.
But reading the summary I knew it wasn't going to be the same. And I thank you so much for that.

Yeah, saved this one in my favorites a while back. You encapsulated the Characters in this story very well, and the way you handled their individual emotions was well paced and gripping. Very, very well written. I don't usually like one-shots all that much, but I enjoyed this one heartily!
