Reviews for The Ghosts of No 33
AutumnAtMidnite chapter 1 . 11/9/2014
What an astounding homage to Poe! This was reminiscent stylistically and in conjuring something of the gothic atmosphere that crept into the Dupin tales, with a wonderful little character study on the side. I loved the exploration surrounding their home, and how they both in their own way relish that shared coexistence in a haunted house - or, at least, one reputedly so ;)

There is a terrible paucity of Dupin fic out there, so to stumble across one this excellent was a rare treat. And you have my appreciation for keeping the nature of the Dupin/narrator relationship as ambiguous at it was in the originals...
Edhla chapter 1 . 2/26/2014
I absolutely loved this, and it's ridiculous that nobody else has told you they loved it until now. Your tone is fantastic - an imitation of Poe without being too slavish to it. Dupin is very much in character, and the ending is beautifully low-key. As for subtext, I think you've walked a fine line between ship-sailing and ship-sinking, and done it well... this non-slash fan was thrilled with how you dealt with his. Awesomeness. x
