KillgarraghForever chapter 5 . 7/10 Was it Lucille on TB5, trying to warn them? Great fic, by the way! I loved it! |
KillgarraghForever chapter 4 . 7/10 Don't you dare die, John Glenn Tracy! Or I'll bring you back and make you eat some of my cooking! |
KillgarraghForever chapter 3 . 7/10 Oh dear. John, you'd better not be dead! |
TheRedScreech chapter 5 . 2/15/2018 It was beyond frightening at first, but then it turned beautiful and sad. Lovely fluff at the end, though. :) Thank you for writing! |
Sad-Blue-Eyed-Angel 2010 chapter 1 . 2/16/2017 I read this story not long after it was published but I'd forgotten to review...shame on me! This was a fantastic story! Loved it! |
a pretty little liar chapter 5 . 9/7/2013 Wow, this story is absolutely amazing. There are so many points here I want to make, I don't even know where to start! Okay, first things first, I guess - your writing is phenomenal. It's so smooth and detailed, and I LOVE that you show us how the characters are feeling by describing it, rather than using thought verbs and the like. Your writing style is just very sophisticated, but not overly so - nor is it overly dramatic. Um, the detail to the rescue - again, excellently executed! I understood everything that was said easily without having to take myself out of the story for a moment to figure out who's gone where, but the dialog DID sound very official. Really, it was well done! And my favorite subject - the boys. Can I start this by saying that I am super impressed by your John? After finishing Banshee, I clicked on your username to see what other gems you have up, if any, and I read your blurb about your vision of the Tracy family - and I love you for putting that up there (in a very non-creepy way, of course...). I too, as I'm sure the majority of readers/writers on this site, have a pretty specific vision of the Tracy's that's been conjured by both canon and fanon. And I'm not knocking anyone - to each their own! BUT - as a fandom - we tend to have pretty specific visions of the way we'd like things to be, and so when I find a story in which my vision matches that described in the piece, I just get all happy excited - and you've done exactly that! John. John is a biggie for me. I don't know if my obsession with John is born of the fact that I saw the movie before the television series, so I latched onto John just a little bit quicker and with a certain vision of him already captured, but I tend to be a bit picky when it comes to John - but only because there are quite a few variations of him out there! I love your portrayal of him. He's reserved and committed to mum's the word on Alan's behalf, but not overly withdrawn or quiet. Just perfect. Same with Alan, and even Virgil, just from the little bit you gave us of him. Alan is, in my opinion, another tricky one - he tends to either need lots of nurturing or is just super annoying and a bit of a dud when it comes to fan fic, from what I've seen. Which again, I'm not knocking - there's some fun to be had when molding the Tracy family, particularly the youngest of five brothers. BUT, for being paranoid and anxious, I thought Alan's reactions (and everyone else's) was so on-point. Seriously. I love that he held his own, only confiding in John. And I love the detail you slipped in - the stuff about Alan's facade, Jeff keeping tabs on Alan, Scott and Virg both turning to John for explanation on their brother's behavior (I love the way you described those two just then - so perfectly done!). The softness of Virgil's voice, the bluntness of Scott's questioning as it relates to his self-imposed responsibility to act as a type of father for his brothers. All so well done! Gosh, this was just such an amazing story, and I'm so glad I found it! I've been going through the site's entire archive just looking over stories. I've taken on a new appreciation for Virgil and John that I've never quite had, and so my interests have changed - and I'm so glad they have! I'm just sad this story ended! Anyway, amazing job - and I apologize for fangirling. This fic is truly a gem, and once I started writing, I just couldn't stop! |
Virgilsgirl123456 chapter 5 . 8/3/2013 Never read this story before but i really enjoyed it well done |
Robyn S. Mockingbird chapter 5 . 11/10/2012 This was just plain cool. Can understand why they wouldn't want to try and explain it all, though. The whole, "Not a punishment, a warning!" thing was amazing, definitely not what I'd first expected, but really good. |
Virgilsgirl123456 chapter 1 . 7/22/2012 Ok i don't think I have read this story before because I only just found it, well done |
TBMom chapter 5 . 10/30/2011 Don't know how I missed reading this one before, but i'm glad I did now. It made favorites list! Nicely done. |
M1ndb3nd chapter 5 . 3/30/2011 Wow, you outdid yourself again! If I don't stop reading your stories soon, I'm pretty soon gonna find all of them on my Story Favourites list! (which doesn't happen very often!) lol. Awesome work. I would love to read 1 more chapter on the story though, even if it's a stand-alone continuation story. I'd love to get Jeff's reaction and Scott's, when they all discover that John had been able to hear them the entire time and they both confirm sighting the ghost. I'd be spooky if they were shown a picture of their mum and it turned out to be her! (Although, I hate how often their mum is referenced in their prayers etc... it's almost predictable, so it's so refreshing to see you steer clear of all the other sheep!) |
Black Dove chapter 5 . 11/14/2010 Well written. A very entertaining and thought-provoking story. |
Kate K chapter 5 . 11/8/2010 Amazing story! It's nice to read a story where John and Alan like and look out for each other for a change. I'm going to make a guess that the ghost/spirit is their mother, who died when Alan was very young, which is why she's familiar and reassuring to John but Alan doesn't know her. |
Iniysa chapter 5 . 11/3/2010 That was amazing! Really and truly! Though I wish you had done one more chapter with them trying to explain everything the family had had heard and seen. :) Thanks for writing this! Lauren |
McHammy chapter 5 . 11/1/2010 That was really good. A lovely spooky story for Halloween. Very well written and entertaining to read. |
