This was very well done, I think it was an accurate portrayal of the limited options for women of the time period, as well as stunning characterization for Fuu.

I really enjoyed this. I can't exactly describe how I feel now though. Perhaps, like Fuu, content? This wasn't overtly depressing, but it was just enough to really tug at my heartstrings. It was realistic enough - Fuu isn't whining about being bored or anything, which I really liked because I've read ones before like that. Yikes. You nailed Fuu on the head, in my opinion. Nice work, I look forward to more!

(Also: I now have a scene in my head where she's looking out the tea-house windows early in the morning, watching the sun rise, and sees the back of their respective noggins' heading the opposite directions and is all 'oh hell no!' and goes charging after them in her Fuu-ish way.)
