irezel chapter 5 . 8/31/2011 eeheeehee, Jack so sweet and breakable under that tough exterior... |
fems chapter 5 . 11/21/2010 Attempting to follow in their fathers' footsteps and failing miserably. You would think their fathers would warn them about going up against Jack O'Neill when the boys had gotten their hands on his file... using his wife, who is also a rather powerful and genial soldier. Ah, it just hurts me deep inside that such stupid people have access to so much money - and the worst part about it is that there are a lot of those stupid people in the real world too. Gah, the boys even left a (financial) paper trail to the photographic studio! Such morons. It kind of gives me the creeps that Cam was having sex with a look-a-like of Sam. I always thought his behavior towards her was a bit too friendly... I like your course of action towards Mitchell. Poor Sam, finding that out about the guy who (in your fic anyway) is her CO and she works with closely. Someone she probably thinks of as a (good?) friend or like some suggest, a brother like Daniel and Teal'c. Ah, just gross. Hum, I guess that double breakfast would be the reason Jack put on weight since flying a desk. He can't continue to eat like he did when he was still very active in the field. An excellent ending to a nice, short story. I applaud you with being able to write a complete story with so few chapters and words. Well done and thank you for sharing. Nitpicks: - "The links to other, non Stargate Program military activities..."- non-Stargate |
fems chapter 4 . 11/21/2010 Oooh, angry sex. Looks like Jack finally discovers what he denied himself so many years ago in that locker room... Very nice sex scene. We don't see Sam as the alpha female that often, most fics have Jack acting all dominant. Yeah, she definitely marked him as hers. I wonder what Davis has to tell him about those punks. Do you think that Davis is his assistant at HWS? I haven't watched SGU with the exception of the pilot but I don't think it's ever been made clear what kind of assistant(s) Jack has... It's kind of hard to reason as well because people would need the proper security clearance and he's such a big shot three-star (although still a two-star in this fic, right?) general that he must have several, especially with him responsible for the entire planet and the off-world expeditions. I still don't agree with you on Mitchell being Sam's superior officer, but you did have good reasoning for it. I just don't want it to be true, I guess. TIMs: "... stroking over his was more then he could..." - than |
fems chapter 3 . 11/21/2010 I like how you start this chapter with how happy Sam is to see Jack again, only to feel crushed when she finds the pictures and their implications. It sharpens the contrast. I do wonder though why everyone always assumes Jack is sloppy. I admit that his table and fridge in Fragile Balance were, but the rest of his house looks very tidy. I would assume with his life in the military he'd be tidy too, but maybe the food-thing is his little rebel streak. Must be so heartbreaking for Sam to find those pictures and realize that Jack believed them, or at least had for a moment. Maybe the empty bottle of whisky should have given her a hint though. Hum, did you expand on that part about his demons and how Jack had always viewed himself? I don't remember that part about the recent changes, although it's been a while since I've read it. I like it, it's very plausible. Shouldn't it be flying a desk instead of riding it, though? Wow, colorful language from Sam! But I can understand the need for it. TIMs: - "She raised a blonde eyebrow at pair of shoes..." - "at a pair" or "at the pair" - ""Sam," Jack began, "I know we've talk about this before..." - talked |
fems chapter 2 . 11/5/2010 Aw, poor Jack! I really feel for him, knowing how insecure he is when it comes to Sam being out of his league and then still getting the girl only to get confronted with such pictures! How heartbreaking. I think the reaching for the bottle is in character for him if you look back to the first season and some remarks he's made throughout the show (i.e. about beer being a good substitute for food). Nice reference to First Commandment, too. Just the thought of Sam and Cam together makes me sick. It makes *me* want to reach for a bottle of booze! I think it's understandable for him not to take a closer look at the photos until he wakes up because, really, who would want to examine pictures of their spouse having sex with someone else? Thank god for Sam's years at the SGC and the battle scars she's collected during those! Obviously the rich kids haven't done their research and haven't even bothered to spy a little on the real Sam otherwise they may have been able to pick up on one when she's walking around the house in her PJs or something. |
fems chapter 1 . 10/28/2010 Oh oh, bored little rich kids can be very dangerous! Seems that those in a position of power are always yearning for more. Just too bad for them that they have no idea who they're missing with! Nice usage of the names of the actors who played the committee. Their 'sons' obviously aren't capable of following in their footsteps just yet. Ah smoking hot Sam, huh? Ew, just the idea of her and Mitchell together makes me shudder. How evil of those boys to use that sort of trickery. The fact that it had taken them a 'surprising' number of favors to even meet with Jack should have tipped them off! But no, they're spoiled brats who are used to getting their way and have only one goal in mind. Aww, poor Jack! Sam is probably his only weak spot (well, maybe Cassie and the rest of SG-1 too) and those bastards are simply relishing in his shock. Ah, he's all shaken up now... well, to be honest I'd probably be puking if someone were to shove graphic sexual photographs starring Carter and her new CO under my nose. That's just... wrong. Not sure if letting Jack take the weekend to think it over is such a good idea. Obviously these boys aren't very crafted in blackmailing. You have to pounce right away before something has your victim change his mind! |
EC chapter 5 . 10/27/2010 It's certainly a premise with possibilities, but I don't buy Jack's characterization. He's Black Ops, remember? And remember what he said in 'The Shroud'? "I don't believe anything anybody says..." He's the suspicious type and any self doubt he may have in regard to his personal worth would not outweigh the ingrained scepticism that certainly has kept him alive in the past. Particularly toward a couple of smirking young men who *look* like the proverbial guppies. I would think that he would look at the photos with a magnifying glass, long before he went home to get drunk. That's uncharacteristically pathetic. Black Ops officers don't do pathetic. Besides. As far as I'm concerned, Richard Dean Anderson might have put on some weight, but desk job or no desk job, Jack O'Neill hasn't changed a bit. |
