About the mom/dad issue.

I alway look at Mycroft and John as a sort of Sherlock parents.

Mycroft is the daddy. Protect his family, provide money (because on what Sherlock lives, if he's not taking payment?), sometimes stern, with guide and rebuke (Adler case).

Where as John is the mother, taking care for him to properly eat and sleep, care of bruises, to console him when other kinds are mean (Anderson, Sally), give the love and stability.

And Lastrade is this great uncle, that comes with toys and games, and try to substitute the dad, who is always busy at work.

anyway, interesting fic, but I though you're going with it in the Johnstrade direction.

Nice to get Sally's perspective. "a mine of useful information that just happened to be laced with poison" is a bit of a mixed metaphor but it works.

This is utterly beautiful. I like the simplicity and the humour, and I absolutely love the voice you gave Sally and how she sees her colleagues.

Perfect and well-written.

Quite bloody awesome. I enjoyed the character studies and the loose plotline was sweet. The ending just made me grin.
