FireChildSlytherin5 chapter 1 . 1/18/2011
Very twisted. :)
Old Fiat chapter 1 . 11/1/2010
Excellent writing here. This was so sad, but beautiful. The way you worked with the idea was really delicate. You actually had me tearing up at the end. The idea that it erased the other time-line was something I had never thought about, but, good God, you nearly had me crying! This was lovely. Especially this part here: "His Captain. His friend. His t'hy'la. But not in this timeline." It was so heartbreaking. Excellent work.
Osperus chapter 1 . 10/16/2010
That is so much sadder than the movie version. I'm a sucker for these kind of things. It is why I love the Doctor so much, because in order to save the universe and whipe out the Daleks, he had to remove so many civilizations (his own people were among them!).

Now I'm love with Spock Prime, too. Actually, I loved Spock anyway, but this just makes it more so. :D

Yes! Finally, someone who got the time paradox principle right! Thank you!

teaberryva chapter 1 . 10/14/2010
Many people agree with you. I do to a point: these are not the people I knew and loved. For example, this Spock is not the outcast, the shunned outsider of the original series: he is a distinguished graduate, a teacher, and officer and romantically involved with a lovely and accomplished woman at a young age. Whether I grow to like these people will depend on further movies. Much of what I like about them now is transposed affection from the earlier version. This may or may not last.

However, I prefer the alternate time line theory. I would be very sad to think that none of the adventures I reveled in ever happened. This is why I wrote a story called Requiem. It's not a particularly good story, nor am I suggesting you read it- especially not if you like good writing. I am not a writer. The only other story I did points out that all bets are off in this new time line. Any one can die.

To continue with the idea that the time line has ended, I would not mind that Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, or Voyager would not occur as we have seen as I didn't form deep attachments to them. Only Enterprise would stand as having occurred as we have seen, and it was indeed my favorite.

My one question would be, since I am not well versed in time paradoxes, is how does Spock Prime continue to exist and how does he have memories of things that have will not happen? I doubt you could explain it to me in terms simple enough for me to grasp, alas.

I would also point out that the idea of alternate universes and different time lines co-existing is already a part of the ST universe: the Mirror, Mirror universe from TOS and Enterprise both used it as a setting.

Finally, one could simply echo Dr. McCoy from Wrath of Khan: they are never gone as long as we remember them. Perhaps that is existence enough.
Lori Jean chapter 1 . 10/14/2010
Very strong, I have been waiting for someone to do a piece like this. To me it was a have to. However, I am not a writer. I am a reader and I thank you for your work.
Trekkie2 chapter 1 . 10/14/2010
It would have been nice to know that this was intended to be slash, but I will constructively comment anyway. What if Spock had intended to come back when Nero did? What if it was Spock's intention to prevent a devastating event that had occurred many years before his arrival, that lasted a lifetime? One that affected not only one life, but the lives of those around that person. One devastating event, not necessarily identified, but kept a secret for fear of intergalactic war. One that had cascading effects throughout the TOS timeline. What if he failed to do so?
