Wonderful job! I agree wholeheartedly with other reviewers — you artfully captured Goren's, well, Goren-ness. I especially like the tiny "business" (to use the theatrical term): rubbing his eyelid, scratching his jawline, and so on. I can easily picture it all while reading, and it really completes the mental picture. This was my first sampling of your prose, and I'm excited to go back and read your other pieces. One tiny negative remark; this chapter was not long enough to get me through my first cup of coffee. I saw your chapter was up. poured my coffee in excited anticipation, and then it was over too quickly. Other than that, I liked the way you tied everything together in neat detail. I would like to see Bobby's "germination" taking a speedier course, but Bobby is Bobby, and he must think out every detail to the nth degree. I am glad he is smiling more, during the last few years on the show he hardly smiled at all. Nice to know that Eames is back to her sarcastic self too. I loved that so much about her. Her facial expressions had taken on a semi-cold, hard look, like someone facing too much angst and obstacles, which of course she did, so reading about a softening appearance returning was good. I would not trust NW to keep her word, but for now all is good. I am glad that this "convulted series" will stay afloat and I will anxiously look forward to more good storytelling from you. When these two are on top of their game they are a wonder-team of crime solving. Let the "lovely possibilities" begin! Thanks for such a good read, Mark.

Nice! This is quite possible. Can't wait for the horror and panic of Bobby Goren at the potential loss of Eames. I know he was lost and panicked and never got back on his game until she was found. Will be interesting to see your take on it. :-D

So if Eames was just knocked out the old fashioned way, the syringe was just to heighten Goren's panic, right? Wallace is evil with every breath. I am glad he asked her about the crime scene. See, Bobby, you let your imagination run amok and it was distracting all day. I am glad Eames is ok, and I agree that they have not seen the last of the she-devil. Jack McCoy was a nice surprise...and he would know about losing love..he seems to be a pro at it. Of course Clair was special. I hated it when she died, not only for Jack, but for Lenny too. Sorry it took me so long to catch up..I am really enjoying the suspense of your story.

The suspense and tension in this chapter was great. How unlike Bobby to not pick up on the fact the Eames was texting and expecting an answer. I think his mind was too consumed with why Eames had not mentioned her early morning activity. Wallace with a syringe is a frightening idea, especially since she really seems to enjoy that method of killing. I hope Eames is going to make it...or Bobby will implode.

Bobby's dreams have never really been his friends. Of course I had to laugh at the part when he is dreaming about making love to Eames and suddenlh remembers she is not on any birth control. Hah! He is responsible even in his erotic fantasy life. Good boy. Adaptable is certainly a good word to describe Wallace. She seems able to adapt any situation to work out to her benefit. I hope she is destined to go down for the count soon. I love Elizabeth Rodgers...she is the perfect person to get annoyed and still be appreciative of Goren's curiosity and skill in detecting details from the dead. I doubt Bianca took a nose dive voluntarily, she did not seem the type.

I never was very fond of McCoy but I'm quite happy with him here. lol Yeah, I really missed Ben Stone when he left.

Ah well, McCoy had his moments and I'm glad to see him here and the mention of Claire. Nice tie in. :-)

I hope Goren takes his advice. After this fright maybe he would reconsider his self-destructive decision to break it off with her. These two are made for each other.

Nice work again of course. I really enjoyed the tavern meet with McCoy. I wonder if Goren will take his advice. While on the surface he does appear to have a second chance but that mostly depends on what Eames thinks about them. Wouldn't she also want to start again?

I am so far behind in everything I don't know whether I am coming or going. I really liked this chapter and I am very encouraged that Bobby is considering reinitiating a relationship with Eames. They seem to be more relaxed with each other, and that's a good thing. I'm glad that Bobby ran into McCoy in the tavern-and that he seems to be willing to take McCoy's advice to heart. It was good advice-he has been given a second chance and he'd be a fool to let it slip through his fingers. Hopefully, he will see that and Eames will agree. She seems to be willing to give him another chance. I have my fingers crossed. Great work, Mark.

Now if only Bobby managed to shoot Nicole before he ran off to check on Alex. Oh well, it's not in Bobby's nature I suppose - especially when he's worried sick about Alex. See that is the difference between Bobby and Alex; Alex would have shot Nicole and went after Bobby in the car after. There is no way she would have let Nicole get away when she had her dead to rights. And Bobby was so distressed that he could think to maybe use his gun to either shoot out or break a window! Nicole sure knows how to take down the Great One. Geez...

That was great! I look forward to Alex's discovery of Bobby's defeat at the hands of Nicole. I don't think she is going to be too pleased that she got away again. Poor Bobby.
