Guest chapter 9 . 5/19/2019
I LOVE how dark and harsh thing story is. It breaks my heart but it's realistic. Frieza is evil to his core. There are people cruel like this in real life.

Saiyan Girl chapter 17 . 2/16/2013
Dude this was a great story! It was very harsh in some places but I really did enjoy it! It was good in a bad way if that makes sense.
Coofis chapter 17 . 8/28/2012
Greetings.
I have just finished reading the entirety of your fanfic, and I have some critiquing to do.

Firstly, I will begin with the state of your grammar. I am very astute when it comes to detecting grammatical errors, and I must say that I found a plethora of them in your writing. They included apostrophes in the wrong places, innacurate use of tenses, and various other miscellaneous errors. I advise you to use spell check before uploading your fanfics. Spell check normally comes with word processors; if you have Microsoft Word, it should tell you any mistakes immediately.

Secondly, I have read many different fanfictions with many versions of what Vegeta's past was like. In fact, I have begun a fanfic featuring his past with a bit of a plot twist. But in all of the versions I've read thus far, I have noticed a recurring theme. All of them are very, very overdramatized, putting the regeneration tanks to full use. Vegeta getting every single one of his bones broken, every day, multiple times a day. Vegeta leaking an ocean of blood onto the floor, every day, multiple times a day. Vegeta bursting into sobs and/or screams of pain, every day, multiple times a day. Get the picture?

I know that this was very much a factor of his past. There is no doubt that Frieza beat him harshly, more than once. There is no doubt that Vegeta endured a torturous and traumatizing existence. But really? Frieza taking a fragment of the Prince's bone and poking it into his eye? Really? Can a regeneration tank even fix that kind of thing?

Now, let's think logically for a second. It is a known scientific fact that when a bone is broken, it will eventually heal, but no matter how light or how severe the injury was, a very tiny fracture will permanently remain from the wound. If the bone is broken again, another tiny fracture will appear. The pattern goes on. Each fracture weakens a person more. Let's look at this from the tyrant's viewpoint. He is running a business. A very barbaric and malicious business, but it is an occupation nonetheless. He employs soldiers based on their strength to venture on purges and to negotiate terms with other planets. It would not make logical sense to repeatedly weaken a prized soldier of his (every day, multiple times a day...), since such things would greatly hinder Frieza's business exploits.

As I said, I have no doubt that Vegeta was beaten more than once, and knowing Frieza, the beatings he recieved were brutal. There was obviously a lot of pain, a lot of blood, and most certainly broken bones involved. But most of the fanfics about the Saiyan Prince's past that I read carry things to an extreme that I think is highly irrational.

Vegeta is my favorite character in Dragon Ball Z. I find him to be not only the most interesting, but also the one who develops the most as a character. He turns from a ruthless villain to a protective father and husband, for goodness' sake! So it's only natural for me to want to carefully study his background and exactly who he is. I've watched the episodes. I've read what other people think of his time under Frieza. And I have noticed that very few people seem to actually get it right.

This is not meant to be a flame or anything. I just think you have to work on the way you portray Frieza's cruelty. Think to yourself: how much is too much?

Once again, this is not a flame. I found myself drawn to this story, and you have a nice way with words. I am adding this to my favorite stories list because there aren't many fics out there that try to interpret Vegeta's veiled past, and I'm glad that some people are giving it a try. This was the way you imagined the Prince's past to be, and while I disagree with some of the events in this story, I felt it was a pretty good take on things. I commend you.

Well wishes and keep on writing,
-Coofis

T-T ending was sad but nevertheless the whole story was good
The Winged Lioness chapter 1 . 2/12/2012
This is the most touching Vegeta fanfic I've ever read. Clear number 1. I love sad, sorrowful stories in general, and this one truly revealed Vegeta's past as I've always imagined it to be. Your imagination is amazing. Maybe on the last too chapters it was a bit too much, but I still enjoyed it.. in a morbid way ;D Now I sort of made this fan fix my official biography of Vegeta. Knowing all this makes it impossible to ever judge or hate Vegeta again (not that I ever did, anyway) and makes me admire the prince even more. It doesn't matter at all that Vegeta is no match for Goku, Cell, Buu or any other characters/villains. If he had gone through all this and still saved his sanity and pride, then he is the real hero, not Goku.

Your style is very appealing as well, and you made Frieza and the other villains sound totally realistic. Great work :)

Twist his bones back into place. OMG poor thing. What in the world did they do to him. How can anyone have such a ven-det-ta (bad speeller) aginst a child. Zarbon must really hate vegeta if he goes through the trouble of cusing him so much pain. But Why? They never really said his reasons for hateing vegeta. Whatevr

Love your desirbing of twisted bones. Bueatifully written love.
