I really loved here how you could take almost a snapshot in time and make it into something quite powerful. Your writing is so good that it enticed me right in and I could picture everything perfectly. It was very moody and emotional (even sad) without too much angst which is what I like. Somehow, when they were on that ledge, and Vergil asked Star to help him regain his lost light - I really pictured the ledge as a balance point where he could either stay on it and step into the light, or fall down back into the darkness. That was great.

I will sure continue to read, but right now I am off to bed to have some sweet dreams *wink*
