Loony Dagda chapter 1 . 2/22/2011
Interesting start, I think you've really managed to capture Red John's character, even within just this one chapter. I was wondering if you're planning on continuing this though.
Traveler of Worlds chapter 1 . 10/11/2010
An excellent sequel. I take it that this is going to be a chapter length? Just because it ended on a sort of cliffhanger. Again, I love the wording, everything here is so delicately stepped around, and yet the meaning is still entirely clear.

"It is with this simple act that he has begun the delicate process of enlightenment, the slow and sensual extrication of the human psyche. And it is with this act that he welcomes Jane to the fold, to the world outside this world, where the pneuma is free to do what it will, when it will, exactly as it pleases...

Someday, Jane will thank him.

...Someday."

I love the slow build up, especially continuing on the line that Red John considers himself to be a deity. It makes the eventual rape that much more...horrifying, I suppose, because it isn't that he isn't sorry, isn't remorseful or even capable of remorse, it's that he looks at it like it's some vaguely painful but necessary thing, that there is nothing to be sorry for. It's almost parental, in a really twisted way. I could be wrong. But he sounds, at least to me, like both a father and a lover at once. It's beautiful.
