Fascinating! Good story, something to ponder. I find it amusing that your beta is named Mythra, who was the prototype for the Jesus myth. In artwork portraying Mythra we see the first halo used to designate divine beings, a motif replicated throughout Western art.

I remember a quote by a famed naturalist David Attenborough when he was asked why he did not give "credit" to God for the world and everything in it, Attenborough said: "They always mean beautiful things like hummingbirds. I always reply by saying that I think of a little child in east Africa with a worm burrowing through his eyeball. The worm cannot live in any other way, except by burrowing through eyeballs. I find that hard to reconcile with the notion of a divine and benevolent creator."

It's an issue that any intelligent, reflective person has to consider.

This is a very deep, and very sad story. That's what happened when two men played God (well, Sylar started it, and he dragged Peter into a conflict, then the 'toy' (i.e. the world) got broken), so that not even God could protect those who had prayed before Him to be saved. You know, I'm Christian, and I sometimes wonder if natural disasters happen because humanity is failing to save itself from its own destruction. Yes, I'm thinking about climate change, corporate greed etc. I know it's rather cynical of me, I'm just being honest with my thoughts.

But I (sort of) digress. I did like this story, since it made me think about issues, and it fit the mood and events of the Broken World series perfectly.
