Dragon magic, eh? I've always wanted to meet a dragon. I wonder what Hiko is up to? haha!

I liked the twist that Kaoru was the first to attack. Also, the image of Kenshin giving Kenj comfort and antidote "while his wife beat out her fury" was a good one. Although moments before you make Kenshin's fear and rage clear, he is able to pull it in and allow Kaoru to expunge hers the way he knows she needs. I also liked how you point out the differences for this family as Kenshin does not shield Kenji from the blood but gives his dragon side the security it needs. Perhaps this is the key to addressing my concerns from chapter 5.

although schools are required to have an approved list of people who are allowed to pick up a child -approved and signed by the parent in the beginning of the school year and the parent would be required to go in personally or to call to make any subsequent updates... at least that's the way it is here). the school would be held liable for not calling to confirm the validity of the permission slip.

Wow, this chapter is certainly darker than previous chapters. I take Latin in school, and while the translation is a bit off because of the 'of's, it definitely looks intimidating! My favorite part of the entire chapter has to be when Kaoru charges in and begins to beat the life out of the magic users. Just the image of it makes me smile.

"Shishou liked Kenji" is positively the best line ever in this chapter. Considering he hides his emotions, doesn't like most beings (have to allow for other magical beings existing), and perhaps had decades of suppressed rage in him, you didn't need anything graphic to describe what Hiko did. Karou being the first to attack was perfect: she went for the throat with no hesitation. I think she may have gained Hiko points here. It also seems very fitting that Kenshin is the one to reassure and tend to Kenji first. How could he compete with a raging mother and an unstoppable grandfather? Great chapter.

Dirty rotten black magic users. May they rot... though this does. Lead to the question did thy know Kenji was a dragon or did they do this to other humans? If they knew then how and are there others who know? Thank you for your time.

A good chapter, full of anger and fury. I had a small smile visualizing Hiko and Kenshin, posturing for the kill, and Kaoru, bursting through between them to lay waste to the enemy. No preamble; only a demand and a determined stroke.

This is pretty heavy. Somehow it seems... smaller than the previous chapters in scale. I'm hard pressed to explain it better. It's definitely darker and leaning a little more towabrd the occult, and makes me uneasy. If that was your intention, kudos!

I love your descriptions. The imagery is very intense, and if the focus here is a bit more on the visual than the emotional impact, I can only assume that it was your intention to let the mood be set by the atmosphere.

And since it's been way too many years since I last took a Latin class, all I can say is it LOOKS really good!

Hmm...this is definitely going to a dark place. If Kenshin takes Kenji without resolving his differences with Kaoru, this could break trust between them and permanently damage their relationship. As for being OOC, he is a dragon so I don't expect perfect concordance. I am more worried about the vigilantism. I think a powerful thing about the manga is that no one person should get to decide who is good and who is evil. The characters are flawed but are often shown to be more than they appear as for example, Aoshi and Anji. Recasting Kenshin in Saito's image may be a fun story but seems a very slippery moral slope. I do not think it could be done without damage to himself.
