This is a really great concept. Really enjoyed the fic. a little sad that Derek lied about forgiving John, but I get it.

As a character, I have never really cared about Derek. I have never disliked his character, per say, but other than a few instances in the show I have simply not been intereted in his screen time. It has been only recently, in fic, that I have really been able to start enjoying his character. This is one of the best. I love your voice for the character and, though he is not the focus of the fic, I love your handling of John Conner as a flawed but also very intelligent person.
