Novindalf chapter 1 . 11/28/2010 The driver climbs out. He lets his hand fall by his side. What he most wants. What he most fears. - Utter perfection. Loved it. |
Rambling Scribe chapter 1 . 10/13/2010 I really enjoyed this. The scene setting was lovely - I could picture Harry in his Norfolk cottage. I like the way he left a trail for Ruth to follow and she found him, of course. It's right that they talked about what happened to Harry when he was arrested. And I'm glad they managed to realise it is possible for them to be together. Good stuff. :) |
Rosettaston3 chapter 1 . 10/10/2010 Perfection. SO clever, too: Harry's sabbatical, Ruth finding him, etc. And of course, your wonderfully descriptive passages about Norfolk! Makes me want to go there! (Still, through your fine writing, I feel I already have!.) :) |
Section D chapter 1 . 10/8/2010 Loved the idea of Harry going on holiday and no one knowing where he is or how to reach him and I absolutely bl**dy adore the idea of Ruth finding him and using his personnel file to do so. Another wonderful, beautifully moving fic - a pleasure to read. |
parttimeficwriter chapter 1 . 10/6/2010 sorry for the late review, I'm hopelessly behind on fic at the moment! I liked this, the mood and the emotion seemed to be just right. Nicely done :) |
This Used To Be My Account chapter 1 . 10/5/2010 Proof, at last, that I do indeed live within my own Spooks world and need a life. I could have sworn you were going to put "He'd only been to Norfolk once before...at Colin's funeral" and then realised that was only in my own fic canon. I am such a dork! I really enjoyed this. I think there is nothing better than the British coast (or countryside) sometimes, and I love it when the location adds to the mood. I'm a fan of Norfolk, too. I love the way she found him; it was funny, informative, impressive - basically, very Ruth, lol! And then...oh, then! I really enjoyed them explaining AND showing how they can be together in their own way. Thanks for a fab read! xx |
TheGrandTour chapter 1 . 10/4/2010 Could it be the last episode of series 9 please? Last scenes? Pleaaaaase? If only... I love Harry stopping near Ruth's bus stop, walking along the sea with Scarlett, getting his gun before to see it's Ruth's car and his words: "'I love you, and I want to make it work. Properly. I don't care about being married or not. All I want is you. Always" and the way this "always" mirrors Ruth's one in ep 1. I love Ruth telling him he left a trail the size of London eye, understanding his every move and her words: "'We both haveā¦.difficult past, Harry. Lots of baggage. But we love each other. And it's all that matters, isn't it?" I love the location in Norfolk (reminds me of one of Stella Rimington's book so definitely a 'spooky' place)and the way your picturing Harry's temporary exile. I think I love your fic. Lots. (LOL) Thank you for that new opus of a (hopefully) never ending romance. Already waiting for the next one. |
cbjfan61 chapter 1 . 10/4/2010 Another great fic as always! |
0074 chapter 1 . 10/3/2010 Wonderfully gentle and evocative. I think this is something that we could expect from Harry, that it's in keeping with his character. Really enjoyed: Ruth telling him "You left a trail the size of the London Eye, Harry." Harry's anger and discomfort knowing she'd read his file, and Ruth's determination that they should share knowledge of each other equally. Harry's simple explanation "We can't have a conventional married life. But I wanted to show you that we can have moments like this, away from everyone and everything, where the only thing that matters is the beauty of nature around us and the fact that we are together." Thanks |
Tentative Steps chapter 1 . 10/3/2010 "We can't have a conventional married life. But I wanted to show you that we can have moments like this, away from everyone and everything, where the only thing that matters is the beauty of nature around us and the fact that we are together.' He turns her to him. 'I love you, and I want to make it work. Properly. I don't care about being married or not. All I want is you. Always'" - That bit was SO beautiful that I almost cried. Wonderful. |
Abigal chapter 1 . 10/3/2010 Excellent...want more, very greedy and a very fast reader...keep posting, may need lots to get me through next year... |
Symphony In Blue chapter 1 . 10/3/2010 This was really beautiful, and I enjoyed every second of it. Let's hope there will be a happy ending of some sorts for Ruth and Harry in the series. Preferably in series 9! |
eggwhisker chapter 1 . 10/3/2010 Love this - utterly believable. It's also made me want to go to Norfolk this autumn! Great writing - again! |
northernexposure chapter 1 . 10/3/2010 Love the idea of them walking on the beach at Norfolk together. Can definitely see this being the way they find their way back to each other. Beautifully distinctive - thanks for writing! x |
