why not just let robin kill zucco

Man, imagine the Titans reaction to the thought that they essentially held Robin down so that Zucco could shoot him-

Awwww c: I would have really liked to see Cyborg's and Starfire's thoughts on this though. They must have blamed themselves for Robins almost-death, after all, he could have dodged the bullets if they hadn't held him down. That is excellent angst material right there. ;D

Yes, there is much worse fanfiction out there, but a lot more than you might think.

In other words: this was a great story.

So yeah. I just deleted you as my favorite author... purely so I could make you my favorite author again. (I know, I'm lame.) BUT IT GOT YOUR ATTENTION, DIDN'T IT? (... It did, right? ... Hello? Melimsah? ... Yoo-hoo, anyone there? Anyone?... -tumbleweed blows by-)

Yeah, well... I didn't want a response anyway. I was just surprised I hadn't already reviewed this. I mean, it has all the story elements of something I'd usually review. Robin. Batman. Angst. Gun shot wounds. More angst. TONYZUCCOWHAT? Yeah, like I said, all the elements! Okay, so really, I was digging through my old e-mail account and saw some FF/net emails and I was like, "Hey! I remember that place! Website full of text designed to suck away people's lives, right?" Then I dug up other fun stuff, like your RotJ fanfiction, which historically marks the moment when fanfiction reviewers started a movement to kill off authors. (With good intentions, of course. We would never go about something like that without good intentions.) And, um... yeah. Where was I going with this.

Oh, right! So then I noticed your last update was around 2011. (2011! Can you believe it?) Did you know it's 2013 right now? I know. Crazy, right? Like just imagine a 20 and then a 13, and that's what year it is. Your mind is blown right now. Even more wild, it's actually almost 2014. Sort of. Give it a couple months anyway. (Random interjection to say that ARKHAM ORIGINS COMES OUT THIS MONTH. WOO!) So yeah. 2011. 2013. Think of that what you will. You could interpret that as you not updating anything in two years but... -shrugs- To each their own.

Yeah, I'm just messing with you. I'm sure you're busy with your animator ambitions, preparing giant storyboards that will torture our heroes while actually being canon. (Hey, did you know Nightwing was going to have his own show before it was scrapped in favor of doing Young Justice instead?)

Oh, right. So this is supposed to be a review. -shakes out arms and flexes wrists- First off, yay Tony Zucco! Throwing the ghosts of someone's past right in their face is always fun. I love it when Robin loses control. I really do. That scene with the Slade-bots? Yup. One of my favorite Teen Titan scenes. (Not that you care, but my other favorite scene is the fight between Terra and Robin in Aftershock Pt 1. It was just a really awesome fight scene. And the entire episode of Haunted counts as a scene too, right?) So yes, losing control. I love it. Robin battling with himself over crossing that line is, in my opinion, one of the best underlying themes of the show. And the way you captured him calming down was just perfect! The "I wouldn't have done it... would I?"

Oh, speaking of quotations. Did you know FF/net doesn't let you copy and paste directly from stories now? (I'm guessing you didn't, since somehow your stuck in time at year 2011.) I mean, sure, you can go into the source code and copy from there if you REALLY want to copy something so badly you'd die if you didn't manage it, but... it's just a ghetto way of going about it. I guess I can sort of see the benefits... but... no... actually, no I can't, no. Because I really want to quote passages from your story and then spam text underneath about how awesome they are, but NOOOO FF/net makes it so difficult.

ARGHHHH THE PART WHERE ZUCCO TAKES OUT THE GUN. It was like the scene was moving in slow motion and I just wanted to jump up and wave my arms like an idiot to get the Titans' attention, but they WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME. So that was great! The only thing I sort of miss from this story is the potential for Star and Cy to feel guilt over what happened. I MEAN, HE WAS UNABLE TO DEFEND HIMSELF BECAUSE OF THEM. Okay, /maybe/ they might have possibly had legitimate reasons to restrain him. -sarcastic eye roll- But still.

But no, just in general, it would have been great to get some of their reactions. At least we get some Batman for that! Yay, Batman. Hey, did I mention that part with the gun? Where Robin couldn't defend himself? And was shot? No? Well, I loved that part. Here's Zucco, taking on the appearance of a victim. (Guys, look at the poor gangster being beat up by the big bad Robin!) Then you SWITCHED the roles so effectively it just left me with a giant :D. I love irony in writing. Yay, irony.

Okay, that's about all I have to say. Blahblahfluiddescriptions, blahblahperfectdialogue.

Seriously, even if you're not posting to FF/net, I hope you are keeping up with your writing. (I demand it. Like, you officially have homework as of now.)

This is sooooo good! I love your spin on it (the episode was amazing), but still I think the Teen Titans' version of Robin gets a lot angrier than Dick in the Batman the Animated Series. I mean Dick says things like, "No problamo Batman!" in the show. Therefore I think that this allowed his hate for Zucco to be understandable and this sounds more like something that the Teen Titans' Robin would do and you wrote his emotions and his hatred for Zucco perfectly. This had me very interested and everyone was very in character. Great job, I loved this!
