Staying the night up to read this was so worth it. I loved it. You made one of the best Van's to exist, if that even makes any sense. I wish there could have been more to the ending, but that's ok. The story was amazing nonetheless.

My eyes hurt from continuously reading but it was worth it. Love the story. Love the pacing. Love the universe you brought out to us. Thank you author for sharing this with the world.

This is a very good story!I liked the character of Van so mature,talkative and very very cool with bohemian style of ..and how the story unfolds is quiet is different and But i felt at the confrontation with his brother were a bit short and no exact closure between Allen and Hitomi. But still good job for this.I've been in loved with Escaflowne since like forever and only just now i resd your awesome

As always I was in the beginning kind of confused because of the topic. I mean it's basically slavery... and Van is buying someone? Hell no! But as the story went on I understood the world behind your story and his motives.
I think you created very sweet but very uncommon versions of Van and Hitomi. I liked it very much! I also loved Dryden so much! (He's still one of my favorite supporting characters in Escaflowne)

Although I wished somehow for a little bit more fluffyness, it was a great story! More like a thriller! Nice one!

With these intrigue chapters, my only question is, is Van's purchase of Hitomi just coincidence? With all the history it would seem unlikely.

Re your author's note: For the record, even though I'm a year too late, I'm a huge fan of the romance scenes and tolerant of plot, haha. What with Princess Milerna hiring Dryden as a PI, it's getting into the nitty gritty! Loving the Angsty romance.

I really liked this chapter in which Van finally reveals his true feelings, and the way he does it. I also like how Hitomi is denying any romantic feelings for him, even though she has no problem laying her thoughts bare to him, about Allen and her past (what she knows of it).

Aww cuddly storybook romance novel fluff! We all love it. I love your descriptions of Van's warmth and Hitomi cuddling into the crook of his shoulder blade :3 so kewt!

Wow—reading Van screw up his "I love you" moment was awful to read! I was actually cringing reading him trying to smooth it over while on the phone: "Yeah baby, rosey posy girl… who wears my bracelet." UGHH Van you loser! Nice job—that was so hard to read!

Poor Allen. Not a big fan of Allen, huh? He's a overstuffed pompous pretty boy princess model again. Sounds like Hitomi has some history with him (

Great chapter! It was like a little montage of them growing closer (a bit) and doing the renovations. That's a cool way to pass a bit of time and add a bit of comfort to their relationship. I love how Hitomi gets all attached to the power sander! My other favorite parts included the comparison of him wiping crap off the plunger to him wiping blood off of a sword and the little bits of fluff tossed sporadically around :) Hitomi is at least noticing (if not slightly jealous) that Van's all about Celena; she whispers in his ear; he calls her "little girl" in an endearing way; she stretches her leg over his while they talk and he rests his hand on her foot. Awww! But aww :( she's all broken over the last guy she sold herself to.

Man, is Hitomi always this stuck-up? The way I see it, Van lives out in the open countryside with a great view and a small town adjacent (my dream come true)! Her thoughts are like a futuristic consumer sheep's or something-like she's always got to have the shiny new city merch. I guess it may seem like squalor to her, but beggars can't be choosers! Sheesh, Hitomi! Get over yourself.

I think it's sweet that she's wearing Van's clothes.
