I hadn't thought this story would be told from Buckbeak's point of view, but I can't help but applaud your choice, since it added a fresh and challenging touch to it. The fact that you inserted a touch of humor at the end was a stroke of genius: It was very funny to see Buckbeak trying to cling to what shred of dignity he still had left, while slowly realizing he might have made a wee bit of a mistake. The way he tried to justify his small error of judgement - "I do have standards" - was hilarious. I'm curious now: did you look up the information about the mating ritual or did all that sprout from a very active imagination? ;-p Sister |
