Awww maaaaan I don't know what I loved more! The fact that Gene was smiling like an idiot? Luigi being the Captain of the ship again? Ray seeing Gene and Alex kiss in such a way that he decided to give them some privacy? Or Gene trying to change the subject by repeating his front or back question and Alex actually answering? I JUST LOVED IT ALL!

Nooooooo! It can’t end like that! Ugh this was so good and I honestly thought they had a chance. But I’m glad it ended on different terms with Alex not leaving Gene behind in the apartment. Thanks for writing and sharing!

Awesome fic. I'm sad to see it finish, but the way it ended was nicely sinister and leads perfectly back into the canon of the final episode.

Wonderful - poor Ray, barging in at just the wrong time, his dialogue with Gene in Chapter 2 is hilarious but at the same time very touching because Ray's crassness makes Gene betray exactly what he feels about Alex. And I love the Gene/Jimbo confrontation, with Alex stopping Gene hitting him, and his decision to go to Farringfield Green with her. "Some part of her knew that they would never dance again." - that is so terribly moving. Thanks for writing this.

Great chapter but sorry it's 'The End'. Infinitely better version of events though and much more logical. Loved it.

The End? What! No! *sad face* Well, I can't really expect anyone to change the ending to the series. This was a lovely different version of that night though, and one that I definitely wish had happened instead. I think it would have made all the difference to us viewers if we had knows that Alex trusted and loved Gene completely. This was a brilliant story, thank you for posting!
