Fanfiction, indeed! Only a dedicated Spooks fan could've written this. Their memories are your memories too.

This turned out to be a Spooks quiz. I've only got hazy memories of S6 and S7 (no Ruth). But I have to admit *blushes* that I'm not sure what you mean by "Ruth's short life as a double agent". Do you mean when she reported to that government official woman what went on on the Grid in S2? And then she had that "little chat" with Tom on a bench?

Ruth has matured on the Grid. She's certainly not naive anymore.

The Thames has witnessed some of their most intimate moments. It played gooseberry when they thought they were alone.

There's one serious (to me!) omission here: no mention of Dear Malcolm. *blushes* But then he was overlooked in Spooks too. *heaves a deep sigh* But please don't worry! It's quite understandable.

You know, love and respect these characters. That's what makes this such a wonderful read.

A late night tete-a-tete, by the Thames no less :) With a little bit of their traditional but awkward tension and humour, and lots of silent reminiscing. It certainly feels like it could fit somewhere after the end of 9.1. Really enjoyed reading this, thanks.

You have their voices just right. I really enjoyed this.

Lovely atmospheric fic - I can picture perfectly the scene you've got playing out here in this fic - how Harry and Ruth manage to find a bubble of solace on the banks of the Thames with the lights and bustle of London continuing around them in the dark. Just perfect - as a non-londoner, whenever I visit I always can't help but pondering over the notion that it's often in the busiest of places that you can actually find the most solitude. Anywhooo, back to the fic - as ever, RS, no less than what we've come to expect of you - I particularly like the gentle pedantic banter picking up on the whole 'late night tete a tetes' and the usefulness of the 'public' element of public places to appease the limits they have placed on their relationship.
