Weaving Ruby into this was fabulous. Great work.

Holy fuck this story was amazing.
Emmers224 chapter 1 . 7/19/2011
Oh wow. This was ominous. Lots of heavy foreshadowing. I liked it! It was sad in a way, to think Sam had never had a chance at innocence. This was a dark and twisted fic but it was oh so beautifully written. The plot alone was ingenious. It ties in quite nicely with the rest of the series. You did a remarkable job with this. :)

Nancy T chapter 1 . 11/11/2010
This story was recommended in the "Worthy Reads" thread of the Crossroads forum. It is a terrific story - the action is nail-biting, the realization of what's happening to poor Sam is perfectly laid out, and those final images are wonderfully written. Congratulations!
rozzy07 chapter 1 . 9/29/2010
This was a really enjoyable but intense read, offering up John Winchester in conflict as both father and hunter, lead into an impossible compromise to keep his youngest alive with the dread of what would come of it. Dean was the perfect uber big brother (yay) and Sam struggled to make sense of what what played out and how he became the centre of such darkness. Lo This was a beautifully written piece that has left a lasting impression and a taste of what sadly is to come about for the Winchester family. Thanks so much for sharing this with me.
Spense chapter 1 . 9/27/2010
I really loved this story. One, it was really nice to see John as a caring father. The scene of him going over the car seat was wonderful. You really found the balance between 'John with problems' and 'John the father'. I really appreciated that, as I LIKE John!

And the plot was great, and frankly, riveting! I especially like the demons comment about Sam losing his virginity - the reality as opposed to what Dean thought.

great story, I really enjoyed it.
Nana56 chapter 1 . 9/26/2010
Very, very good! Hours of enjoyment reading this! Don't know where to start with my review. lol

Loved this all working together and being a kind of precursor to what we actually saw happen on the show.

This fic was an actual stroke of genius. You gave us everything we love...hurt Sam, hurt Dean, scared and angry John, protective Dean and John. Loved John's reaction when he finally realized that Sam was shot.

Just really loved it. :)
JazzyIrish chapter 1 . 9/26/2010
Wow, this story was fantastic. Love the way you connected Sam's fatal injury and the black magic that cured him to what came later in his life. Your choice of words and imagery is pure magic - pun intended. ;)

The title is most poignant considering the ritual that Ruby and YED put Sam through. I'm not sure it was to cure him at that point - maybe just to "mark" him. And those last three lines - like a gut punch. I have to admit, tears flowed as I relived Dean's horrific death.

Thanks for sharing this amazing story with us. Your talents are a generous gift to us, your readers. Until next time...
JustOnePogostick chapter 1 . 9/26/2010
I enjoyed the premise of this story and the excellent use of imagery as well as the poetic descriptions and language. Overall, I enjoyed the circular story arc how you expertly weaved in elements of the TV story line into it.
Linnie McCary chapter 1 . 9/26/2010
We're always in for an interesting, well-written treat when you post here, and this time was no exception. I loved that it dovetailed so well with canon-it so easily establishes Azazel and Ruby as players-to-come. I also really appreciated the detail in the flashbacks (the alphabet song is a prime example), how round and 'explained' you made John (I thought he was exceptionally well-drawn in this fic), the eyebrow-raising concept/conceit that Sam was deflowered before Dean, and the fact that there was a little humor here, as well ("For Dean's part, he was glad to be done with school, although he did miss the cheerleaders"). A fine, fine read-thanks.
