So far I haven't actually enjoyed any of the HotD shorts, as while they have been good they tend to be quite sad also. This, however is an exception I did thoroughly enjoy it, great work!

Woohoohoo! That's truly a great fanfiction! I wonder why (even though I had read this almost a year ago) I haven't reviewed yet. Thus, I'm going to make up now, and since I've gotten better at writing reviews, I hope this will be a nice pay-back. :)

First of all; language use gets a 10 out of 10 from me! Excellent grammar, spelling, and generally writing and description throughout the story. Amazing job ;)

Now, more importantly, talking about the story line and Saeko herself. As you already know, Saeko is my favorite character from HOTD. Even though in the beginning she seemed to be just 'the perfect girl', I always knew there would be something behind this facade. And I was pretty pleased when I watched the episode in which she tells her story to Takashi. And you, oh great writer!, have depicted her exactly how Souji Sato-san has! Not only do you show us how the others see her and how she usually behaves (like a leader, that is, even though she doesn't intend to be one for the sake of fame), but you also perfectly present her other side; the vicious Saeko; the Saeko we don't know; the Saeko no one but her enemies will ever see; the blood-thirsted Saeko; the OTHER Saeko.

I truly am at a loss of words here, James, and that's more of a mere statement than an intention to make a compliment. Being totally in character with such a.. complicated anime figure isn't easy. Understanding Saeko isn't easy. You can follow the plot easily, but -again- UNDERSTANDING Saeko is not easy. I praise you therefore! Good job!

Now, onto the storyline/plot part (hope I haven't tired you already :p). I like it. I also really like how you describe Saeko's father. He seems to be a traditional Japanese man, and I like imagining him. It just reminds me of the fact that, hey, not all of the culture of old Japan has been modernized. There are still people who are in favor of ancient Japan (I am a sucker for ancient Japan, as you must have already understood :p).

I also like the flow of this story (hell, one third of the words I've written must be 'like, I like,' hehe). It just reveals itself on its own. No need to reread parts to understand what's happening. You just seem comfy with writing it. A great plus for a writer. I like (oh no! not again! xD) such writers. Writing truly means something to them, hm?

Great job, man! Keep it up! I hope you'll write more ;)

An excellent first attempt. Your story carried the essence of the incident Saeko described in H.O.T.D. and expanded on it, giving us an insight into her background.

Fantastic as always! I'm expecting some amazing material to come from all of the members of the four horsemen :)

I love how all of the writings are so closely connected to the actual manga and how each and every one is a great 'What-it" scenario. I hope to see more like this :) (Perhaps how Rei and Takashi came together then apart)
