i just finished this and oh my god.. the way the last and this chapter made me cry! shikamaru opening up to asuma made me bawl because i know what’s coming. you write so well!

remember when tenten blindfolded Neji. because I parallel is hilarious.

It's true, it feels a little weird watching Shikamaru have these moments with someone one else, whenever ShikaNeji's together it feels like theres nothing left of the world they live in. And OtC is a good reminder that the whole world is still there, fully functioning and unforgiving of where they'd like to be.

Especially when they're away from each other.

But It doesn't feel wrong.

I agree with you when you say that you write these characters the way they want/need to be written. Your writing has never ever felt contrived, reading your writing always just feels like real people just being themselves making their own decisions...

It almost feels out of your control. Like a painter with a paintbrush and a vision of art in mind, but you have no idea what colours, brush strokes and techniques it will take to get you to the finished masterpiece. Just that you have the right tools to keep working at it until the painting tells you you've done enough and it's ready for it's frame.

I have to take a moment to applaud you for that amazingly wonderful half drunk, half sober convo between Kakashi and Asuma because that was truly something. The way you tie everything together and come full circle. It was so wonderful to see Asuma be like "Heads are gonna roll!" It made me so happy for him, I got excited wanting to see him become a father. And then it hit me that he was never going to meet his child and I was like FUCK.

p.s - Very accurate portrayal of anxiety attacks.

Here I was thinking that Ino 'Swaying her hips' was just a character idiosyncrasy, but was actually foreshadowing a very lovely scene between her and her sensei, I'm very curious as to what this will lead to. And I myself am interested in figuring out the rubiks cube of the Yamanaka's insecurities. (I loved the comparisons/metaphors you used between her and flowers. That was stunning)

Gosh you make Temari such a womanly force to be reckoned with. SHE IS A BADASS. And just as calculating with her choice of words as Shikamaru. (Loved how you worded the whole using words to draw blood moment between their convo?, VERY INTERESTING, damn I wish I could use words the way you do)

The way you write character's. MAN. Everyone is so likeable, and has so many layers. So human.

I always get so emotional with Neji. Totally teared up near the end. Not looking forward to bawling my eyes out later... whenever that may be. But I know it's coming.

oh my god. I honestly have no idea how you do it. Your writing always blows me away. I'm going to be squirming in my seat if (when) Shikamaru finds himself in the same room as Temari and Neji. That foreshadowing from Ino's horoscope gift book is really starting to play out. I LOVE HOW YOU BRING THESE CHARACTERS TO LIFE, in such a mature and intriguing way. LOVE LOVE LOVE everything going on right now even though I'm scared and don't know why.

Side notes: 1) Asuma and Kerenai's scenes were insanely sweet and you're really setting up their relationship so well. I can tell my hearts going to break in the next ficlet.
2) I adore the way you've written Hinata. I've always had such a soft spot for her, and have never quite seen such an accurate portrayal.
3) You've always got me worrying about Neji, I swear by the time I get through this series I can already tell my heart is going to be ripped out of my chest and I'll be bawling my stupid eyes out.
4) YOU WRITE WITH SO MUCH INTRIGUE I CAN'T STOP READING.
5) Your writing often hits me in places that I didn't know existed, leaving me feeling feelings I hadn't known were possible to feel and inspire me to dig deep within the tangible parts of my soul and put whatever I discover into a story of my own as a way to grow as a human being who has something of value to say...

Whatever that means.

Shiiiit, gosh the way you wrote shikaku's entrance is just unbelievably brilliant ! Holy shit like I got no words left in me to depict how suspenseful that part was, its so soooo good. It gave me chills! Okie I'm going to read more adíos

You destroyed me in Break To Breathe and yet here i am again. Guess that shows how good a writer you are.

I know I haven't even responded to the lovely words of your most recent response to my review. I however have been too torn between realities to properly formulate a response.

As is I'm not sure I can word a response worthy of this installment to the BtB series. Of course I will do my best to try anyways.

These last 17 chapters have certainly been a roller coaster. A suspenseful wait on bated breath. Reading the last few words of this chapter, knowing this was the end of this piece, was like releasing a breath I wasn't aware I was holding. The fresh air filling my metaphorical lungs brought a cool relief to my psyche that instantly troubled with the thought of what could possibly be next? We have settled a few mysteries, we have righted a few wrongs and despite all the players not being on the same page we are making progress. But the relief this progress brings is eclipsed by the deep red clouds on the horizon as foreboding as the characters who wear them and my heart stills in an icy silence. "You can't stop the clock". No you cannot however you can stop my breath and freeze my heart with words so well written and truly magical that I still can't distinguish left from right, up from down... Reality from fiction. The pieces are in place, clearly in motion but where are we overall? What step will happen next? How much longer will we have this stolen peace?

I recognize I can go read the next installment now. However I must take a moment to remember to breath. Won't do me good if I drown in the words you have written. So thank you for another wonderful piece. It's truly delectable in its ability to fulfill every want and need I as a reader could possibly want.

I left a review after reading "Break to Breathe". I have not much else to add after reading this. Absolutely incredible writing, and I'm immediately going to read the next part. I am so glad that this seems to have received the support it deserves, because it is truly amazing writing.
