Lady Razor*sharp*, indeed! This is phenOMenal. In addition to how much I enjoyed your take on the Spike/Vicious/Julia story (which I was plugging along and reading so quickly I did not stop to review, thinking to do so when I reached "the end" - you know the one ;), I click the next-chapter button and discover you've tackled my *other* favorite backstory. And with such a deft touch! I can't tell you how much I like the way you've written Gren here. You really seem to be inside his head, inside his way of thinking.

Off I go to the next chapter, but I couldn't hold off commenting any longer!

Rich and fine. Your writing inhabits the physical world in a way that makes me admire (and envy).

Shin's grief and the odd mirror-play (Lin opening his eyes) work well on both physical and symbolic levels.

I liked his instinctive flirting with the girl behind the bullet-proof glass ... more mirror imagery? (She with her boy-short hair ...) I like how you have used glass in these several instances to isolate Shin.

I dig your work. Looking forward, as always, to more.

Wow, this story is as interesting as it was from the first chapter. We've all, of course, wondered what Julia was doing from the time she left Spike and Vicious to her abrupt appearance in "The Real Folk Blues part one." You have done an excellent job witht the account, it's certainly believable. I suppose you could end it wherever you like, but I will hope for another installment. Congratulations on such a crowd-pleaser!

I thought this story was over and just discovered this last chapter. It's good and please right some more. This is a great story, and I hope Spike and Julia end up together.

I have no idea how this story slipped under my radar, but I'm mighty glad I found it. Gee, what to say? Your writing is smooth and enjoyable, as always. And as a unique interpreter of Bebopery, you have shown me something that I hadn't ever considered, which is the essential *loneliness* of Julia. The way you portray it, it's nearly painful, and sorrowful. And even when she makes a strong connection with Gren (probably her first friendship since being on the run?), it's a tenuous one, with the certainty of his death unavoidable.

It makes sense that Vicious would be a classic abuser, since he seems to be so much about control. Still, it was chilling to have it explicitly stated. It somehow makes him more horrible to me (than if he were just a fairy tale demon). And then you have that subtly shaded reaction when Julia gives him the music box, just to remind us that nobody is black and white. I almost pity him there.

Julia's time with Spike is nerve-wracking and sensuous, and just enough of a taste to show what they've both lost, in losing each other.

Interesting to see the sexual potential of Bloody Eye. That simply hadn't occurred to me, and it seems absolutely right on.

Just like the title this story is beyond beautiful. I loved it. It's nice to see a story that actually puts the spotlight on Julia for once, and supports Julia and Spike! I loved it, and it flows well to be a believable prequel to the Cowboy Bebop series. I certainly hope you write more of this.

wow this was really good, and i love julia and spike stories. the ending was perfect...you want them to be together but you know that they just can't. keep it up
