Reviews for A Long Way From Home
GreatLakan chapter 11 . 5/21
This is a waste of time!
Guest chapter 3 . 5/3
Will the imperium play a roll in the story
BurninSoul chapter 27 . 3/18
To leave it on a cliffhanger before giving up on the story. What an absolute waste.
Lord Damon Darkfyre chapter 27 . 11/4/2019
Will you continue this story? Nothing I hate more than a story of this caliber just left uncompleted, waiting for more. Hope all is well.
Gilgamesh King of Mongrels chapter 1 . 10/9/2019
This such BS. This "alliance fleer" wouldn't last a minute in the 40k galaxy.
Guest chapter 1 . 6/11/2019
Did you just use the ‘G’-word to describe 40K!? You sir, are a filthy heretic!
Guest chapter 17 . 5/16/2019
You made the imperial ships seem like they are protected by paper every time they engage the alliance in a void war. Space marines strike cruisers wouldn't just openly kill their own forces either. Guardsmen or otherwise. I'm not sure why but your making this more of a "okay so the alliance are the good guys and warhammer 40k are a bunch of mindless fools that can't even understand basic strategies. I was loving the story till you did this. Your favouring stars wars so hard it's painful to watch.
battlecruiser03 chapter 24 . 2/23/2019
I'm not the only one who thinks that even the big GE would even back the those three heck he'd probably give the orders HIMSELF. I wonder how Papa Smurf would deal with this?
Guest chapter 12 . 11/27/2018
To be fair, it is, in all honesty, highly unlikely that the Etheral Caste DOESN’T have some kind of psionic powers, and no one can detect them because they are looking in the wrong places. They are way too persuasive otherwise.
01SilverDragon01 chapter 8 . 11/28/2018
I give up. I know this story is old, but the Navy enthusiast in me can't take these misconceptions about my beloved ships anymore. I have to get this off my chest before I continue. The mere thought that Imperial ships have such short range nearly shatters my heart. 85,000 km? Try 300,000.

Macro cannon rounds are hundreds of meters long and fired at extreme velocities. Star Destroyers are crumbled by much less. Turbo lasers doesn't even compare to the destructive power of lances.

And so much more. Like orks being squishy as hell. And it seems that Ethereals are psykers now. Who would have guessed? Eldar pilots and fighters being outmanuevered by the far inferior fighters of Star Wars. 40k ships being tiny, especially the eldar. And Dark Eldar who apperently didn't read the book, "How not to get hit 101". And apparently so visible that they might as well just announce their presence.

I have nothing against xovers. They are really interesting. But when you deviate from the lore, at some point you just gotta ask, why even bother?
Anonym chapter 27 . 11/5/2018
Would you continue it someday please? Also you need some proofreading, especially about your/you're and their/they're. Amazing fanfic nevertheless!
NightWithMoon chapter 5 . 10/7/2018
...ugh... this story had so much potential... but...
firstly A jedi would last about five mircoseconds in 40k universe. They are so accustomed to opening themselves to the force and allowing it to guide them, that they'd become demon possessed almost immediately. You could probably find a way to explain him surviving and even thriving, but by leaving it unaddressed... well that just means you haven't thought about it enough. Second...
well Honestly I could just go on, and there are a number of things I'd probably be forgetting.
Basically this is an interesting and fun idea for a story but you've come at it in a half-assed manner that shows that you care more about whatever you initial idea for the story was, rather than making it a complete and complex work.
remember the saying "Life is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to at least make sense." well your's doesn't.
Axccel chapter 21 . 9/3/2018
Imperial fleets are not out-ranged by Star Wars. Their fights take days simply due to the extreme ranges involved.
Axccel chapter 13 . 9/3/2018
Stupid Alliance. As always, Star Wars people have to be morons. He could have simply explained that the species encountered by the Alliance are not how the Inquisitor described and are quite peaceful but agree that the species encountered around and in the Imperium are indeed very aggressive and violent. He could and should elaborate further that the aliens and humans are not unified in the Alliance by species but by the Alliance and so no one species can gain dominance over the others or even try to. He should also then explain that humans are the most numerous and pretty much rule everything in all but name.

Sure, there is the chance it wouldn't matter, but the Imperium has several dozen protectorate species.
Axccel chapter 12 . 9/3/2018
Well, the Etherals produce pheromones, but whatever. It isn't really "bending" canon so much as replacing it with your own. I wonder how long it will take for the Star Wars group to discover that the Imperium is actually right and is as terrible as it is out of sheer necessity. More irony, the Imperium is keenly aware of how dark it is. So terrible even its super-corrupt bureaucrats sometimes try to improve people's lives when they just can't take it anymore. This always results in planets or even entire sectors being lost to Chaos or aliens. The survivors desperately wishing they were dead.

This is what will happen to the Star Wars folks if they don't learn quickly.
