I love this! Poor Sherlock! I love RDJ's beautiful rendition of Charlie Chaplin's song 'Smile'!
SHRevolutionary chapter 1 . 1/4/2012
Oh. Wow. Completely amazing. Your best yet. Quite possibly the most touching story I've read in quite a while. Perfect. It brought tears to my eyes, and trust me, that rarely happens. Like, ever. I shall be listening to this song.

theraggedypond chapter 1 . 12/30/2011
Is it your most heinous desire to tug and rip apart at my heartstrings until they are mere shadows of what they have been madam? If so, well done! You made me want to cry and not many stories have done that. -.- good job, if sad. Makes me think of what will inevitably happen to me one day.
Feralious chapter 1 . 12/18/2011
Really nice, for once Holmes isn't the selfish bastard he is... and yet it pains me to see him that way.
Faerie of Tara chapter 1 . 12/17/2011
Poor Holmes :(
Lolita Lockett chapter 1 . 6/18/2011
So sad and beautifully written. Wonderful oneshot.
Lia Walker chapter 1 . 6/6/2011
Traditional Messaging is not working so I have a question I was re-reading the pneumonia story and curious if you'd continue expanding it? Like Holmes and Watson argue over something as Holmes gets better from the pneumonia so Watson pays less attention and Holmes stops taking medication and then Watson has to help in the recovery and deal with serious guilt. The treatment can be Watson slapping Holmes on the back to clear congestion to get his lungs clear and he can deal with the guilt of helping Holmes even though he is hurting him :)
arcadii chapter 1 . 5/7/2011
This must sit between "Can't Let You Go" and "How to Save a Life". It's very heartbreaking!
sdrawkcabemdaer5 chapter 1 . 11/29/2010
uuuuugh, that was so tragically beautiful! I particularly loved when Sherlock refers to the tuxedo as his mourning clothes. such wonderful imagery throughout, and such strong emotion. loved it.

So full of emotion, even more so as I read while listening to Smile. (one of my favorite songs of rdj)
Unknown666 chapter 1 . 10/1/2010
Beautifully written, whether you see it as either a platonic love or something more sensual, this piece of writing moves any reader who has watched the film and fell in love with the chemistry between the two men.

A delight to read

This was fantastic! It wasn't too intense and wasn't horribly tragic. Yes, it was sad, but also very sweet.

It made me smile. (:
Nian chapter 1 . 9/17/2010

Catastrophic Monsoon chapter 1 . 9/15/2010
thats...too depressing T-T but nice lol
Uncanny-dreamer chapter 1 . 9/15/2010
Wow, that was incredibly heartbreaking, and especially imagining the song with this story is just...well, made me quite depressed, lol. ;p

I ADORE RDJ's version of "Smile." I've heard of the song before but never really listened to it until I got his album, "The Futurist", not too long ago in fact. It's been one of the albums I've been obsessed with for the better part of this year, haha, and every time I listen to it it just keeps getting better and better. I was curious enough to search for different versions of the song on Youtube and came up with the Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, and Barbara Streisand versions of it, but I have to say RDJ's just does it for me. It's perfect. I really think he understands Charlie Chaplin through and through, especially to have been able to play him so well in "Chaplin", but his interpretation of the song is just so heartwrenchingly beautiful that it makes you cry and smile at the same time. Or at least that's what happens to me, lol. Ah, and usually I don't care much for "songfics", but I guess they're better when one actually knows what the song is ;) In any case, I truly enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing! 3
