the second part, with spock's dream, was so creative an beautifully written (though I also enjoyed the imagery and repetition in the first section)

now that is grimy, Spock has a chance to run out, the chicken.

Excellent writting. Bittersweet for Sarek, he gets what he wanted for his son only to see his child walk such a lonley path. One even he a prominate male Vulcan whom married outside his race did not take. Considering this is an alternate timeline we assume
Sybok doesn't exsist. Nor the sister Vulcan planet of T'Kulan. For if the older brother did then it wouldn't be such a push for Spock to marry T'Pring. I would love to see how the rest of the population is reacting, considering on a whole all are emotionally compramised. Now that would interesting to see how that would effect these quickie marriages to save the species. Hope to see more of this storyline. It really gives depth to the characters ST:2009 movie didn't achevie.

This is a real choker, what emotion here, and the last line was devastating. I want to reach into the story and shake that Vulcan for his "duty".

So sad yet so, so good. I hope that Spock realizes in time the mistake he's made and that when that time comes, Uhura will have the kindness to take him back and have each heal the other. I have a feeling that's a long way to go though right?

I’ll write a response when I get over the trauma this induced…GAH! Spock has totally, so totally blown it all. I ‘spose in this version of his life he gets what he originally wanted; to be a “real” Vulcan. This was heart rending, which means it was well written and compelling.
