Loved your take on why McCoy is always on the bridge. No matter how annoyingly grouchy McCoy can be, he's also loyal and giving to a fault. Probably no one has ever take care of him or cared about Jim so well and Jim knows it. No wonder he ordered McCoy to be there. Of course, McCoy needs Jim to get him to focus on expressing his passionate feelings constructively and keep him grounded. No one has ever given McCoy what he needed yet without taking any of his defensive reaction (against emotional pain and his own unacknowledged abandonment issues) bullshit the way Jim does and McCoy knows it. Your story illustrated that beautifully. Loved it.

Great scenes with, especially Kirk, and Bones. You did a fine job in regard to portraying their multi-faceted bond of friendship!
