Reviews for Hufflepuff
abandonedaccount47 chapter 1 . 5/7/2017
Oh man, this was great and terrible.

I loved it.
Mlle Millie chapter 1 . 3/8/2014
Hey, i really love your one-shot, and i'm doing a collection of translations on the Hufflepuff House. Do you agree that i translate your into French? Waiting for your answer, hope it'll be ok for you ! :)
The Rahkshi Writer chapter 1 . 6/24/2012
"Oh it'll omly take a few minutes, what's the harm?"

I've never been able to stop myself clicking on quick reads, and I'm glad that's the case, because I really liked this! Poor hufflepuff, they always did get sidelined in the books, hell, it even gets lampshaded in the books as the house 'who take all the rest' after the others have had their pick. This was really nicely done, capturing that essence of... not shame, exactly, more like something missing. You put it best yourself when you said "there's nothing to be proud of either."

I must admit I never realised that 'writing British' was a problem, to be honest, although I don't write Harry Potter fanfiction, and generally steer clear of community chatter, so I guess I really shouldn't be surprised at not knowing anything about any fandom... but seriously, we're not that different to you, you know. There's a couple of phrases, such as pants and trousers (unless you all run around in your underwear 'across the pond' (never heard anyone actually say that one, either), in which case you are all very strange!) but other than that there's nothing to it. And I've taken this far too seriously, haven't I?

Finally, working my way through your archives over the past couple of days, having started on Canon Rape, moved onto Fanfiction is SO cliched, then run out of parodies (aw...) and decided to have a look at more serious work. Intending to leave reviews from here-on-out, but don't want to give the impression of stalking you. Story-ishly. Though what you're thinking now I've said that I dread to think.
the one who hums chapter 1 . 3/7/2012
Though I have never read the HP series, besides the first one like back in first grade, I have seen the movies. And I know that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were probably mentioned at least once and a while in the books. But in the movies? Nothing. Completely zip. Besides the half hour compilation of Cedric.

So I completely understand what this is all about. Even though all of the houses should be equally important, no one gives a crap about Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, because no hero or villian was from those houses. Cedric was the one beacon of hope in a house of anonymity. And then he died.

Poor Hufflepuff.
YWotW chapter 1 . 1/20/2012
Aww...I shouldn't be saying this (because I'm a Slytherin) but I feel sorry for you. Well written, though.
Brennason chapter 1 . 12/2/2011
That's exactly how I feel. Hufflepuff pride?
kismet-wayfinder chapter 1 . 10/23/2011
That was bleak. Yet, aside from Cedric indeed being one of the Champions, Hufflepuff certainly was portrayed as the House not to be in, canonically. Sure, Jo never outright said they're meant to be seen that way, but stories speak louder than afterthoughts.

It was written well, anyway. It was believable as the thoughts of a Hufflepuff.
Cinnamon Ninja chapter 1 . 10/10/2011
Noooooo! Poor nameless Hufflepuffian! D:

Oh my... this is really good writing, by the by. (But then, all your stories are. :D) It's a really good snapshot of how the Hufflepuffs would have felt and...I don't know, it just FEELS real.

Personally, I love Hufflepuff, and the 'Puff discrimination makes me a bit sad. Scratch that, make that a lot sad. This makes me even sadder...but in a good way. If that makes sense.

Awesome work!
pyr0technic chapter 1 . 9/10/2011
I like how you portrayed that, since so many people cover up the fact that they're Hufflepuffs and go for all the other houses.

I personally think Hufflepuff's the best house and you should be really proud of getting in it, Hufflepuff has a little bit of everything. It's a long subject, and I'd rather not ramble, but I really liked this
too addicted to fiction chapter 1 . 8/21/2011
So I was reading over some of your other wonderful stories tonight and I saw this one. I've read it before, and I liked it, but I'm going through a HP phase again and felt like I should review!

I like this little fic. Of course the best thing that Hufflepuff's ever had (at least during Harry's Hogwarts span, which is of course where all of our knowledge comes from) was Cedric. Ohhh Cedric, how we loved you. And it's so true that that's pretty much all Hufflepuff was known for during the book series... So sad.

I am most definitely a Hufflepuff, though. I've taken those personality tests online for funsies and people always say, "Oh, you are without a DOUBT a Hufflepuff" and will laugh a little. I know you tend to stay away from HP ff, but I bet you could write an awesome story from a Hufflepuff students POV - whether it takes place during the same time as the Harry Potter series or merely exists in the same universe at a different time, or whatever. If you ever decide to write something like that, I'd definitely read it (and love it too, I'm sure). Anywho, thanks for this read!
Yes.I.Ship chapter 1 . 2/28/2011
HA!
FlittingGemini chapter 1 . 1/2/2011
There is a story in my favorites, well its more like an essay. but its called " A non-Brits guide to writing Harry Potter" Not only is it funny, it is very informative and useful and when I get off my lazy ass and write a Harry potter fiction like I want to, I plan on using that essay. So give it a whirl, maybe it'll help.
Tomoyo Kinomoto chapter 1 . 10/17/2010
Awww! D
XxKittyCaitxX chapter 1 . 9/12/2010
Short, but good. :)

Poor Hufflepuffs. I have to agree with Draco, if I put in Hufflepuff, I'd probably leave. If I wasn't in Gryffindor or Slytherin, I wouldn't be too happy. It's always about either Gryffindor or Slytherin, am I right? No one barely mentions Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. "What the HELL is a Hufflepuff?" Poor Hufflepuffs...

I think you should give the HP fandom a try, write a couple of more stories about it and see how you do. I know some writers who are American and are really good at writing British. Just remember to use words like 'rubbish', 'brilliant', 'reckon' and 'codswallap' LOL. XD You're a fantastic writer, I think you could pull it off rather nicely.
prettygirl17 chapter 1 . 9/9/2010
Hello. Been a while hasn't it? I think it was great. Apsolutely. I was lost somewhere in the middle-end area. But then the ending pulled it together nicely. Perfect last two sentences. I think that captured the entire thing and relayed everything perfect. Can't even say it enough. You're a great writer. Never stop.
