I'm so glad you wrote about the picture of Jack and Aaron and the origin. There is an unexplained time gap between their return and the trial. I'm glad you wrote this excellent one-shot to fill that in. :)

YES! I can't get over the fact that Kate kept that photo of Jack & Aaron. It spoke that she still loved him, even after they split up. I was so devastated by that fight between them! I was all happy and giddy when I saw complete Jate moments in the shower and Jack carrying Kate to the room. But then they fought and split up, all in one episode together with the Jate moments. UGH. So the fact that she still kept that photo of Jack & Aaron comforted me a lil bit.
While Skate had got more episodes of just them. -.-"

Wow. They were so insatiable lol. XD And Aaron almost caught them together :p

How happy and giddy I was when I read they really intended to make a Jaby :p But we all know that in the series, that didn't happen. Sigh. Oh well, again, DAVID. haha. David might be a Jaby.

Even though I read this little gem over a year ago, I never reviewed it. I love happy Jate and I really like to believe that they shared a lot of fun and tender moments like these. This was a pleasure to read and I love how your interpretation of the origin of THE photo. It is interesting that something as simple and basic as a framed photograph can offer insight and further explanation of the depth of Jack and Kate's relationship. We did not get to see enough of happy/family man Jack, but the writers intentionally focused on that photo because they wanted us to understand that Jack, Kate and Aaron were the real deal and that they had built a life for themselves AND they shared happy activities. Oh, how I wish we had one full Jate angst-free episode!

I love the contentment and joy that this story two grown ups ( and I say this word with all of the weight that it implies) really do show what it is to be a partner with someone and to love them.

This is so telling of Jack' knowledge and tender care of Kate:"Kate, I know you and I love you. That definitely allows me insight into your thoughts and feelings. It's actually pretty scary how two people can be so connected, but what bothers me more is that you didn't want to tell me." He said, with a hint of disappointment in his tone.

Her profound difficulty with opening herself up to him is always their road block, it is so wonderful that Jack does not give up, he doesn't decide to make do-he presses on, he remains curious, engaged. It draws Kate out, it breaks down her barriers. So good that you higlighted that.

There is aways so much angst surrounding these two,so much cost beng paid in full that it is easy to forget that they have the potential to experience true mature happiness. That is what SNBH represents to me- mature, grownup joy. You have real gift for conveying their happiness, that is why I am so glad that you are writing the definitive afterlife fiction. You get it, the real gravitas of it all. This is the other side of the coin for these two, the one side being sacrifice, pain and suffering, the other this- gladness.
