Guest chapter 1 . 8/17/2012 I love your version of Nick's childhood and his family! |
Norah chapter 1 . 3/7/2011 I really like your work. I have read this one and Four Eighteen. And I thought they were both great. Please let me know if you have anymore. |
JacquiT chapter 1 . 12/15/2010 I love your Little Nicky. He's so endearing and so like the sheltered but well brought-up child I imagine him to be. I really, really loved this story and aside from the cuteness of a miniature version of Nick, I think it's because of the depth of feeling that so clearly exists between Nick and his dad. Dad is annoyed with Nick for breaking rules and doesn't excuse him, but he does reassure, comfort, and care for him. Perhaps in the second part where it's an adult Nick and an aging Dad, there isn't any annoyance there, but the love is there, as well as the effort to reassure and comfort; the father's need to make sure his son knows he cares is really touching. Beautifully done! |
Simply Ginger chapter 1 . 12/8/2010 Very well written and very touching with bringing his dad into the story after the buried alive episodes. Well done. |
csi101 chapter 1 . 9/10/2010 I really loved this story. I am a big fan of Nick and his family - particularly when it shows the closeness between him and his Mum and Dad. Another really well written story and looking forward to more. |
TangledPencils chapter 1 . 9/9/2010 An "Awwwww" factor of about 9.5 I believe, lol |
Moochiecat chapter 1 . 9/7/2010 Wow, this was so lovely. I so enjoyed the love and respect between the Judge and Nick. That really showed in the actors' characterizations during the original episodes. |
LILKENNY chapter 1 . 9/7/2010 Gosh this was utterly cute! The first part with little Nicky was simply adorable. I really love the interaction between his dad and him and that his dad wasn't a hardass on him for being a boy or something but instead was this tender. And it worked to great with the second part. I have to admit, I was waiting for the last line to appear once again because it fit the story so well. And it reminded me of one of my favorite episode as well! |
NickyFan chapter 1 . 9/6/2010 God, I love this one! There are no words to describe how much :-) I can't even really say why... but I will try. Well, the most obvious reason might be that I can really identify with 'little Nicky' here. I had similar events like this in my childhood. I like how you wrote his father here... he was understanding but also showed Nick that what he did was wrong. I wish my mom would have been this understanding. I understand why Nick did what he did though. He was young, the youngest of seven and all his siblings were allowed to do something he wasn't. Little kids are curious and then there was his love for animals. All you wrote here was so believable and fit very well to Nick's character. You also displayed the typical kid behaviour very well... I can remember acting like this when I was hurting, lol. For example I fell as a kid and hurt my knee. It hurt very much and then my grandma came and would promise me candy when I'm brave and you know what happened? It stopped hurting immediately ) I love the interaction between Nick and his father here. By looking at the person Nick is (as we get to see him on the show) I'm pretty sure he had parents like the ones you write in both your stories, 418 and this one :-) That's the only possibility I can think of that he turned out the way he did, caring, strong with a deep sense of loyalty. I also like the second part of your story here. It sounds just as believable as the first one and I like that you used Nick and his father's relationship again here. His dad made him feel better when he was a little boy and he manages it now too. It's like the picture of Superman little Nick had of his dad still sticks with adult Nick. He feels safe when he knows his dad is there. The last bit of conversation between Nick and his Dad you repeated in the part with little and adult Nick is brilliant. It showes that times may have changed but their relationship is still the same... no matter if Nick is an adult or a kid. I think your story motive is brilliant! It's so true that you don't have to have super powers to be someones hero... you only have to be there for others when they need your help and you're superman. Lovely story, it goes right into my favorites! |
the walking chill pill chapter 1 . 9/6/2010 aaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, that was super sweet, really well written - and lol, the song you chose was EXACTLY the right length for the fic, took me that exact amount of time to read it! great job, great song too, i loved it! |
az26 chapter 1 . 9/6/2010 Ok, a bit of laziness on my part, but I still stand by this review, and feel it fits. Ordinary Hero- Enjoyed how you wrote the relationship between Nick and his father. The first section was sweet, especially how Nick's father took care of his young son. The second section brought tears to my eyes. You captured the unimaginal pain a parent must go through when their child is injured and in pain. It was refreshing to see Nick's father portrayed as a caring parent. Great story, great writing. Take Care, Kelli |
Mma63 chapter 1 . 9/5/2010 Very good. I love when you bring Nick's childhood in flashbacks like here and in 418. Make us feel more close to the character and give us much more than the writers/producers did during past 10 years. |
JennaTN chapter 1 . 9/5/2010 What a great one shot! I love how you combined his childhood and Grave Danger in the story. And I love your flashbacks. |
Galynsolo chapter 1 . 9/5/2010 Love that you show The compaison between childhood and grave danger, really cool! |
Queen S of Randomness 016 chapter 1 . 9/5/2010 hey! awesome story! - :) |
