Hermione is well armed anyway. Though I admit that she first needs to learn to use that weapon, which is the content of some of her classes at Hogwarts. But her weapon is even a lot more versatile than any muggle weapon. On the other hand, using a gun is very intuitive, and if charmed a bit, very easy to use. Even without years of training in charms, transfiguration and defence against the dark arts. Aim, pull the trigger, let the enchantments care for ammunition, recoil, and cleaning, et voilà. I'm always for muggle ingenuity to destroy the purebloods' uneducated world view.

Ohhhhhhhhhh! Looks like Scar and Harry are planning at bringing the chickens home to roost on the Wizarding World, starting with what is essentially official Muggle-baiting of parents like the Grangers.

Love the MacGuyver reference! I would love to read a sequel where it was explained why harry didn't go to Gringott's when he was 8 or 9 or 10 years old. I would love to read how it was that Wormtail somehow managed to not hear about the whole thing and escape even though he spent the intervening 5 days in Hogwarts. I would love to read what happened to Albus and whether or not The Greater Good was shoved forcibly up his ass. I would love to read how Lily and James dealt with Petunia and the Whales. I would love to read how Lily and James dealt with Moony abandoning Harry given that he never once bothered to check in on him at Lily's sister's house.
