It was beautiful. Really. Left some things hanging, and I feel like someone's driven me to the edge of a cliff and just stopped there and said, this is the end. And I'm just staring at the empty horizon and saying, what? What? Why? Why did God choose to end the world here?

It ended with good music, that's something.

Oh gawd. This is brilliant. Really brilliant. You really have a good grasp on this- whatever 'this' is, I don't know, I could probably gesticulate a lot about it. I'm beginning the fourth chapter and I'm glad I'm lying down, because I've gone weak at the knees because this is brilliant.

Okay, to elucidate. Merging politics into it- I'm really not one for history, so as I read this I was reading a bunch of Wikipedia articles at the same time, and you know how Wiki goes, you go off on an article spree, and you just keep going until you realize you have to stop because there's a story waiting. So I've taken a few hours to read up to the third chapter, and we have this deep Lestrade and your dryish, witty style of writing, which I adore.

And I probably sound pathetic- I usually don't review stories that intimidate you with sheer, sheer, thisness (more gesticulation) but I saw the review count and my blood beat with outrage.

So there. This is brilliant, and I love it.

Just wonderful, I've enjoyed this story thus far. I am looking forward to the rest!

I agree with Sherlock that Lestrade is wasted on Maurice... Of course part of me wants to see that resolved but ending it here is the right thing to do.

I feel for Lestrade and for Sherlock, well done!
