Lol how does Scott do that? I can never get my brothers up like him...

I keep discovering stories I thought I'd reviewed and it turns out I haven't - I can only apologise for taking so long to review this entertaining little fic.

It's nice to see someone giving thought to the minor dramas in the life of a single father with five boys, as well as the major ones. You capture Jeff's frustration and fingernail-grip on keeping his cool very well. I really loved Scott in this though - utterly in control, knowing his brothers so well but determined not to be taken for granted. Next year, with Scott away, is going to be a whole bundle of fun for Jeff and the boys!

This was a good, fun read and put a welcome smile on my face.

I love that end bit, where Scott gets a sort of premonition that one day his brothers will need to obey his orders. Loved the way Jeff floundered around among the mayhem. Loved how Virgil just wouldn't get out of bed and John sat in his room stuck in a book, and how Gordon could lie through his teeth while maintaining eye contact. Lots to love here, Loopstagirl!

Nice, I think Jeff better find out how in the world Scott got them all together. ROFL if I could.

LOL oh how this story brings back memories of my siblings trying to find reasons not to have to go back to school!

Absolutely LOVED IT ! Just the fact that Scott was the only one that could get that herd of boys moving was hysterical and the whinning and hiding stuff.. yep, I so remember doing some of that and even trying to play sick. LOL. Great Story and definitely going into my favorites list. Great Job!

What a fun read! Lovely characterizations. I could "feel" the houseful of boys and the under the gun chaos of that morning. Brothers everywhere, in various states of readiness, skipping down halls, climbing out windows; the passive resistance of hunkering down in bed. John an island of calm outside the whirlwind. Scott marshaling them all together as he has always done and then his moment of reflection in the quiet house after they've gone.

It's all good.

I know what Jeff's going through. But then, I only have two childern, so having to deal with any more than that must take some doing. Glad Scott was there to gave his dad a helping hand. Although, I am intrigued as to how Scott managed to get Virgil up and ready so quickly. The mind boggles...

I loved the ending. Scott's thoughts - very apt. :)

This really was lovely. I love stories about the boys as children and this captured the first day blues perfectly. Poor Jeff - he might be a great businessman but he's totally out of his depth in this! And the boys were perfect. Think I had most in common with Virgil today - really didn't want to get up this morning! Scott is wonderful here - and the ending, with hints of things to come, worked brilliantly.
