What a charming and touching story.

First time I've watched Pokemon series in my late teens. From the start I found Caterpie nice and friendly, and I didn't understand why it likes Misty so madly (whom I found at first as ugly and unfeminine), and why Misty doesn't return his friendship. I used to think that she was cruel witch...

Now I'm a grown-up woman and I understood Misty as well.

It is like the Ugly Duckling, with Caterpie feeling unhappy with his appearance. The descriptions here are nice, and the perspective on Caterpie really gets us into its head and thinking.

I find Caterpie to be cute, personally. Those huge eyes, those cute noises it makes, and just how friendly it is. Plus, it turns into my favourite Pokemon, Butterfree!
I miss Misty too. The only real partner that can face Ash in a match unlike those other girls. And I wouldn't blame her for her fear of insects. Happens in real life, only difference is that the insects have feelings in the Pokemon universe.

Ah, sad. Poor Caterpie. Misty you bimbo!

Poor little Caterpie. If I was Ash, I'd slap Misty for being so mean to the baby Worm Pokémon.
