Lady Sam Mallory chapter 5 . 3/1/2018 Wow. That story was magnificently told. Thank you for taking the time and energy to write it and share it with us. |
Chick Feed chapter 5 . 2/12/2018 Just found this, sat and read it in one go, outstanding for imagery, flow, characterisation, texture, theme/story arc etc. Really it has it all. Excellent fic. Thank you! :D Hugs, Chick xxx |
Ecraivette chapter 1 . 4/17/2017 I'm trying to think of the right words for what I'm thinking here, but the closest thing my mind can come up with is the standing ovation from Mulan. This story is absolutely fantastic. I've only read the first chapter but I just couldn't wait to applaud you on this masterpiece. I am so serious. I was hooked at the very beginning with the brothers just talking about Cas at a whore house. That bit alone was so perfect, it was just the right amount of humor and it was like a breath of fresh air the way they were comfortable and open with each other, considering how they were actually getting along during seasons 4/5, and it is a very fine line to write a dialogue for the brothers that has that feel while also staying true to their characters, and yet the characters you wrote were still unmistakably Sam and Dean. I've read too many stories that were okay, yet severely suffered when the authors didnt stay true to their characters. In this first chapter alone, you gave us so many beautiful little glimpses of parts of their lives juxtaposed together and you did it in a way that it flowed wonderfully and you let the readers drift from scene to scene, emotion to emotion, without overwhelming us. I enjoyed every part, and these transitions in and of themselves are so impressing because in so many stories I read, I have to actively search out the authors intended emotions with each change in mood but you transitioned so smoothly, it was like having the cues from the background audio in the actual show. Not to mention, that the way you broke down your paragraphs, it was effortlessly easy to follow who was saying what, which is sadly another quality I have seen lacking in many other stories. Everything about this first chapter was perfect, and I truly mean that, from your sentence structure to your punctuation, from the humor to the need, from the quips to the comfort. Thank you, thank you so much for sharing this, you are so talented, and reading this one chapter made my day. |
KatieForestpelt chapter 5 . 8/31/2016 I loved this story! (stayed up past 3 am reading- totally worth it) It's an amazing fic, and a must-read for any Supernatural fan. I feel like no amount of words in this review would do it justice. You definitely have a way with words, and your descriptions make me feel like I AM the character (which was a really weird experience when Dean lost the last of his senses). How do you do it? Oh man, when Dean lost his sight, that was the saddest part. I felt so bad for Dean, and also for Sam who had no way of reaching him and letting him know he was there. :'( Having Cas be able to talk to him in his head was a great idea, which I really loved. All in all, fantastic, AMAZING story, 10/10 would read again and will definitely recommend to other readers! |
CornishGirl chapter 5 . 3/2/2016 As I reread your stories, first discovered in 2014 when I fell for this little show called Supernatural, it's fascinating to see the progression of the arcs in the show and your fics. Reading this superb story NOW, almost six years after Dean's return from hell - and knowing everything else that's happened to them, including Dean truly becoming a demon - makes this story even more poignant and painful, in a way. Because while they both were struggling with terrible burdens, including the apocalypse and the whole question of vessels and destiny, they obviously had no clue things would go from bad to worse. This story, which appears initially to be a pretty straightforward case of revenge for the first demon Dean ever cut into as a torturer, peels back all the superficial drama and plants a blade right in the gut. It's a masterful work of great nuance and care, presenting us with all the fears and burdens both brothers feel. Kudos! |
VicariousWindows chapter 5 . 7/4/2015 This was one of my favorites of yours Gaelic, which is hard because I absolutely treasure all of your work. As always, the adventure had me hooked, to the point this was the last thing I touched before bed and the first thing I grabbed when my alarm went off. The undercurrent themes that develop so much of what goes unsaid in the show is perfect, to the point I rest easy considering this canon... thank God, these things were said and experienced because I was aching for them to happen. Your original characters are so deep and endearing I wish they were canon as well. I thought Brenna was my favorite, but now Raya is giving her some competition! :) Finally, I enjoyed reading something of yours with Cas, and the moments with Dean were so genuine and moving. The notion that Cas was the only voice Dean could hear in his void had me in shivers. Anyway thanks for the work and I hope you dip back into SPN more now-a-days. The show needs you as a writer! But since that's not the case, I'm happily comforted by the retellings and imagines you contribute here. |
marycarman59 chapter 5 . 7/31/2014 I loved this story I ould love to many more of these thank you |
MistressSnowclaw chapter 2 . 12/28/2013 OMFG xfiles reference! Officially the best fanfic i've read. Discriptive, good pace. Love time spent on internal dialogue. Solid grip on storytelling. Loving it. wanna read all your things! |
Freya922 chapter 5 . 6/22/2013 This was amazing. You dealt with each brother's guilt and burdens so beautifully, and at this point in the overall story that is no simple task. The virus that stole Dean's senses, one by one, was terrifying, and dovetailed in such a nefarious way with Dean's desire at one point "not to feel anything." |
RenewedBlade chapter 5 . 12/11/2012 This was a lovely read. I've read a few of your works and every single one of them is stellar, but after reading this ending I just felt compelled to leave a review. I've been watching and reading clips and fanfiction of how the relationship between the boys has changed and become strained, almost broken - I think I speak for most (if not all) of us when I say that it hurts to see Sam and Dean at odds and being estranged because of misunderstandings and all. This ending made everything so much better, that two brothers can still find some sort of solace even in this mess. It was exquisite. Thank you so much for the treat. I'm hoping to read more from you - you really do write beautifully. Cheers! R.B. |
thesunwillshineclear chapter 5 . 8/30/2012 I have lost the ability to form coherent sentences because of this amazing story which all began with a dream (which I find awesome). Also, your writting is fantastic and just pulls you into the story (and I really never wanted to stop reading it). And I loved the order in which Dean lost his senses. Before this I though the worst would be blindness but really it's touch. It just made me think about it. Yep. And you're awesome. |
FallenAngel218 chapter 5 . 4/23/2012 I enjoyed this story. You did an excellent job (as usual!). Your ending was perfect. It made me smile, thinking of them camping, drinking beer and listening to Zeppelin. It sounds so relaxing! Great job! Fallen Angel |
FallenAngel218 chapter 2 . 4/20/2012 This is exciting! I love the darkness in your writing. The imagery it plants in my head is excellent! :) |
KusajishiFukutaicho chapter 5 . 12/18/2011 I left my review at chapter 4 because I thought it was a more appropriate place, since I wanted to goo over Cas' adorableness and all that:3 I think I've said it before...but Dean and Sam...their ability to inspire trust(and in some cases, loyalty) in utter strangers is just amazing. Seriously. I like how you write them so in character!(: |
