If i hadn't had to work i would have finished this in one sitting. The pace was fast and only slowed a bit when he counted his loot. Just what was his final level before leaving Chicago cause i lost track at five. This just goes to show you never summon a person that has more knowledge in DND than most players and a power player to boot. Can we say Demi-immortal. Very good read and one of the best i have come across on here.

Mechanics-wise, I do not believe that you are, or should be allowed to reduce level adjustments immediately, nor to choose a template beyond level 1.
I can't remember exactly how it functions, but I believe you need to wait 3 levels for each 1 adjustment.

A great story. A lot more gritty and serious than what I normally read but you did it nicely, not dwelling too long on any horrible topic.

This was thoroughly enjoyable, but might I suggest smaller chapters. My friend and I try to stick to 6k, though I like my first chapter to have 10k.
