Ooh, this is wonderful! I really like getting to see Annabeth at camp before the books. In the section about the cursed blade, I felt absolutely awful for Annabeth, knowing it was her knife. The bit of how she played cards at the Big House and then became the counselor is good too. Great fic!

Young Annabeth literally breaks my heart. You write her so flawlessly. Just the right mix of words to portray her beautifully.

In the end where she says that she isn't her father's daughter, that she's a daughter of Athena, I literally had to stop and take a moment. It was like a shift in the air around me, a moment that shaped Annabeth to be who she is when we meet her. A turning point.

This was very impressive. I've never read a story about Annabeth's past that really ties together all the loose strings as well as this one does. I'm assuming this is a oneshot, to my dismay, although I will subscribe regardless, on the off chance that I am wrong. :) Great job.
