I like how Dean immediately wondered if there was not another shifter and how Sammy managed to help when he tripped the shifter.

I think the episode about the shapeshifter was the one that made me really fall for dean. he keeps so much to himsef, that i ache for him everytime a little of the true him comes out.

dean lives and fight for his family. simple as that.

sometimes i get really fed up at sam.. for being kinda selfish.

btw, i really love this! and i love dean.

Wow. Amazing story. It makes me miss the old times, before the angels, and back when Sam actually meant what he said. But I mean that in a completely good way, promise.

This was very good. Usually i don't read stories that are this long because it takes me over two hours to read them and i usually don't like them, but this was very good.

I really enjoyed this. It took me back to the early days, before demons and angels and world-shattering destiny, when all the boys had to worry about was a missing father and rediscovering their relationship as brothers. This story reminded me why I remember that time in the Winchesters' lives so fondly. Thanks for this.

Oh Faye... your writing is such an enticement to read, so that now very, very late, it gives me the proverbial kick up the arse to tell you how much I continue to enjoy it all. Cos... I'm so pleased to see a new fic from you! And what a joy of a read this was. A little angst, drama, action, h/c and a series of heart warming brotherly moments.

'Skin' remains one of my all time favourite episodes. I think you did a awesome job with this tag, extending it in a way that not only fits the themes of the episode but allows the bond between the boys to grow and shine through.

The idea that the shifter had a brother and that he was seeking revenge mirrors the show in such a wonderful way. And you really twisted things nicely at the beginning, making us all doubt if Dean survived St Louis only to lean that it's all a game. And this fits in so well with what we leant about shifters: their sadistic and sly nature.

As always you did such a great job with the boys here. Their mind-sets and the complexity of their relationship at this point, still learning to trust and work together. Beautifully done.

I think his brother's presence would always be enough. No matter what happened in the 'future', Dean is his anchor. The both are for each other.

Really enjoyed this. Stands to reason that those things would have 'family' and revenge would be attempted. Winchesters are really nothing to be messed with, however. :D
