I just found this and it was great. I think this line perfectly sums up her relationship with Damon and her lack of depth with Stefan:

"Let's hope Stefan doesn't see me that way." I said softly.

Damon's face became serious again. He shook his head. "No, Stefan doesn't see you that way. That's just me."

Perfect.

the ending is so sad. Poor damon. :(

i think it was good :) it caught the tension between them nicely it could happen so i like it hope your writing more

Nice fic. I really like the ending. I can see how Damon would see things in Elena that Stefan doesn't. I'm convinced Stefan only cares about Elena because she is his justification that Katherine (who he really loves) could one day be like Elena where "goodness" is concerned. So it makes it Ok for him to love Katherine (or something twisted like that). Anyway, I think Damon is a lot more in tune with what Elena is about than Stefan. And he doesn't lie or deny reality as a rule. So the ending to this story seems completely believable to me. Thanks for the good read!
