Reviews for The Learning Curve
sally chapter 1 . 9/13/2019
Your first paragraph just turned mr off. If this is the Abrams' idea of Kirk's childhood, then that Director/producer is a sad ceature that needs Mental Health visits. Sad that Fan Fiction writers wish to give voice to severe child abuse, using Star Trek. Unnecessary.
EiswolfZero chapter 1 . 6/1/2018
I really adore your Picture of These two, of Jim and Spock
especially your Jim
god another amazing Piece!
Phantasmal Abduction chapter 1 . 3/5/2014
Beautiful. I was totally swept away in this fic and found myself not wanting to emerge.
If that's not your best work then damn :)
purrfus chapter 1 . 2/23/2012
Sometimes the quality of the writing can lift a lackluster concept. Sometimes the emotional impact of a story can lift it beyond the technical errors. This story is nicely balanced.
Violintide chapter 1 . 8/10/2011
The part of this that intrigued me the most was actually the Bones section - and makes me look forward to the point where Jim meets Bones in your other works as well.
Lady Merlin chapter 1 . 7/5/2011
Whaddya mean 'not your best work'? It's brilliant! I don't know why I haven't read these before! *headdesk* I mean, WHAT WAS I THINKING?

The last bit. Getting Spock to understand. Makes me want to do backflips of Joy. *grin*

Minor nitpick though. In 'Lonliness' in the second last paragraph- that the *loss* of it is almost sickening. Not lose. But apart from that, Wow.

Love,

LM
Paralelsky chapter 1 . 7/5/2011
Aw, so much angst, but it was beautiful!
chys chapter 1 . 7/5/2011
i don't understand why they wouldn't know about the previous bond and then wouldn't jim be really angry? is this still the bedtime story universe?
Azamiko chapter 1 . 5/29/2011
*cheers*
Natarawolf chapter 1 . 1/6/2011
This was awesome. you made me cry but i loved it so much
Tia Paes chapter 1 . 12/27/2010
Oh, this was just wonderful. So wonderful. Such a sad start but then such a satisfying end. And I really love the story structure that you use and the brief glimpses of his life that you allow us to observe. Thanks for this read, I really and truly enjoyed every minute of it!
Indredi chapter 1 . 12/6/2010
Short, but very good! Can I say I'm so glad that in Bedtime Stories there is a happier ending (more or less) for Jim's kids? the imagery of the woman stroking his hair while bodies burn gave me shudders up and down my spine!

Loved the finding of Friendship and Brotherhood with Bones. "and even later, when he washes the stomach acid off his shoes..." is a FANTASTIC line!

And, as always, Spock saves the day (or at least Jim's soul) and teaches the most important lesson of all! Do I (hopefully) sense overtures of the direction Bedtime Stories will take in a few chapters? Hmmmm?

PS, whatcha doin' up so late answering reviews?
Romanse chapter 1 . 11/22/2010
Not your best work? Are you CRAZY? : ) I swear, I nearly swooned right out of my chair at the final scene between Jim and Spock. The level of romance for me was totally off the hook!

Your writing completely, totally rocks and you SOOOOO need to write that really Loooooong story wherein a tortured Jim takes the long, hard, winding road to love and healing with a certain, complicated Vulcan. I'm so there. If you write it, I will read and review every chapter on my word of honor!
Doni chapter 1 . 10/1/2010
Really nice work here. Heartbreaking and beautiful.
Robin Silverman chapter 1 . 9/14/2010
